From such hit films as "The Dam Busters", some say the inspiration for the Star War Death Star Trench battle, comes the hard working Avro Lancaster bomber.

For this game it does very well as a cheap bomber. In campaign play build lots of them, watch a few break up while the multiplied bomb bays smash the enemy. Then build more because they are cheap. With the narrow height profile they are very easy to stack multiple over the same target. Plus in this game wreckage of broken bombers are themselves a projectile.

Picture instead of a $2,500 bomber that can only line up about 4 bomb bays on a target flying in 4 Lancasters in a stacked formation dropping with 8 bomb bays over the same target.

In a similiar price value combat test 4 Lancasters faced off against a 4 flak gun Flaktress. The Lancasters won. One was in good shape, one had lost its bomb bays, one was immobile floating as a target while poor Charlie had been completely wrecked.

This version figured out a slightly better way to present the Lancaster appearance.
