Improved Warly

Beskrivelse
Do you like the sound of steel drums on the beach? Do you want to be a master chef roaming a harsh, unforgiving world? Do you want Warly to be better?

If so, then this is the mod for you! The Improved Warly mod helps Warly, The Culinarian, by giving him multiple quality of life improvements and altering his food preferences to be more manageable and fun. With these changes, Warly is finally able to be played the way he was intended: a chef with a nomadic playstyle that eats a variety of different meals. Below is a list of Warly's perks. Refined Taste
Warly gains only 70% of the Hunger, Sanity, and Health from raw foods, 80% from dried foods, and 90% from foods cooked over fire. Negative effects are increased by 30%, 20% and 10% respectively instead. Due to the changes to Warly's Pickiness perk (see below), Warly doesn't suffer any additional penalties for eating the same food more than once.

Pickiness
At the beginning of each day, Warly will announce a preferred menu of food that he wants to eat for the day. The menu is picked randomly from the following categories: Meaty, Seafood, Fruits and Vegetables, Sweets.

The first time Warly eats a crock pot meal from his preferred menu, the meal provides 33% more Health, Hunger, and Sanity while negative values are reduced by 33%. Warly remembers what crock pot meals he has eaten. If he eats the same crock pot meal more than once per day, he will not receive the 33% bonus.

On the other hand, if Warly eats a crock pot meal that isn't on his preferred menu, the meal provides 33% less Health, Hunger, and Sanity while negative values are increased by 33%. The penalty doesn't increase if Warly eats the same meal more than once.

Once the next day begins, Warly will randomly select a new preferred menu and forget all the meals he ate during the previous day. The new menu will never be the same as previous menu.

Day 1 (or the first day the mod is enabled) is considered a "free day" which means Warly gets positive bonuses from ANY crock pot meal he eats. "Free day" will be randomly selected as a menu on subsequent days.

If you forget/missed Warly's preferred menu announcement, there are 3 ways to figure out what it was:
1. Examining his Portable Crock Pot while it's on the ground and not cooking a meal will make Warly announce his preferred menu again.
2. Eating the wrong food will make Warly comment on what menu he wants to eat from instead.
3. Warly will automatically announce his preferred menu again when you load your game after saving and quitting.

For a complete list of what crock pot meal is on each menu, please see the Pickiness forum post

Very very cool mod, it represent what warly should have been right from the start. Looking forward for a port to DST, very good vision. :cozytf2mug:
The Preferred menu should be a set of icons that display the foods that warly is craving at that day on the top of the screen, but asides from that, the mod is terrific.

The mod doesn't add Pepper or Toma Root to the game. If you use the "Enable" setting for the DST recipes, you will need to find other mods that add those ingredients to the game. "Substitute" works better if you want to use the mod by itself.

if I want to use DST Crock Pot Recipe, can I look for seed like Pepper or Toma Root in base game?
Verdigris 4. mai 2020 kl. 19.26
Maybe de grinding mill could be implemented simmilarly to the lazy crafting mod? you just place the items inside it and it gives you the season. You could even give it some delay using the animations for balancing
not sure if its in the scope of this mod to add the salt rocks in the world gen, but it could be sold in hamlet or found in normal rocks or substituted by something like pumpkin spice or give some use for durain lol

A lot of great ideas well done! Myself I was able to use if to regain the Chef Pouch after I lost it between transfer in Adventure mode, I'd hate to lose the pregress. I guess no craftables are respawned in next world.
Murphy's Law  [skaper] 7. mars 2020 kl. 6.47
Yes. I updated it so it shouldn't crash anymore.
Murphy's Law  [skaper] 6. mars 2020 kl. 16.24
Ah, that explains it then. Warly's Pickiness in DST is that he cannot eat anything that isn't a cookpot meal. The way this is handled in game is to make the item not recognized as food. So the reason the stats don't show up is because Warly isn't allow to eat it in DST mode.
Murphy's Law  [skaper] 4. mars 2020 kl. 15.26
I managed to fix the crash. If you tell me which mod shows the food values, I'll have a look but I can't promise I can fix anything.
Murphy's Law  [skaper] 29. feb. 2020 kl. 16.29
I tried eating both and the game did not crash. The crash might come from a mod conflict. I have no idea what food information mods your referring to so I have no idea how they are getting the food info.
