One of the toughest fighters of his era, Jerry Quarry was a tough opponent for any fighter he encountered. At his best, he was a quality counter puncher with two handed power and could push the pace with focused aggression. Unfortunately, he would find himself easily cut, a curse that would strike again and again, costing him many of the most important fights in his career. Quarry would never win the Heavyweight title, losing to Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier twice and taking a brutal thrashing from Ken Norton, but any career with wins over Floyd Patterson, Ron Lyle and Earnie Shavers must be considered noteworthy.
