Thanks for the information. That doesn't really change how I feel about it, but knowing more about the game is super cool. I like to absorb all the knowledge I can.

The only part that isn't speculation is Kevin making a custom math library. It's all integer notation. No floating point, as he says that is too imprecise, and GPUs are all about those floating point numbers (FLOPS, or floating point operations per second).

Any speculation is welcome. But this bogged me down hard and I thought it was quite commical. It might actually not be GPU intensive at all, but using the acronym helped me write my little punny thing like the riddler from Batman. It could be that the calcualtions are more CPU intensive, or are even only intense on the game engine it's self. But I still find it commical for sure.

How were your results on this specific file? I would love to see how it runs for you if you have a way of sharing it.

I don't think this game simulates on the GPU, and I believe that is by design. Kevin Ryan (goes by Game Dev Castle) coded a custom math library to be more precise with calculations so that way the game runs on a multitude of different machine configurations that could otherwise have wildly different results for the same contraption configuration. Many GPUs can handle this sort of computation, no problem, but I don't know if it was yielding too much variance due to the various different GPUs out there on the market. I would inquire about it.
