Build Series: Salvador - The Gunzerker

My forth guide discussing a Salvador build

Introduction

Salvador, the Gunzerker is one of the most fun multiplayer characters. With his, gunzerk ability, he is able to output a good amount of constant damage, without having to worry too much about running out of ammo. His skills also allow him to tank damage as well as put out a decent amount of damage. This guide will discuss a Salvador build.

Gunzerk

A straightforward skill, Gunzerking allows Salvador to dual wield guns, effectively doubling damage output, however losing the ability to aim down sight. Best used on a large group of enemies or bosses to decimate them in a hail of bullets.

Overkill Build

Salvador - The Gun Monger

This build focuses on getting as many bullets out, as well as getting the most bang for your buck. It's good for both solo and co-op play.

Skill Description

Gun Lust
Locked and Loaded- Increase of rate of fire after reloading
Quick Draw- Increased weapon swap and critical damage
Divergent Likeness- Increased damage/accuracy when Gunzerkering with the same/different types of weapons
Auto Load- Reloads unwielded weapons on kill
Money Shot- Increases damage on last bullet in the magazine
Lay Waste- Increases rate of fire and critical damage on kill
No Kill Like Overkill- Increases damage on kill by excess amount of damage

Rampage
Filled to the Brim- Increased magazine and ammunition capacity
Last Longer- Increase Gunzerking duration
Steady as She Goes- Reduces recoil and chance to increase accuracy on hit while Gunzerking
5 Shots or 6(4)- Chance to add extra round of ammunition to magazine
Yippee Ki Yay(2)- Increase Gunzerking time on kill
Double Your Fun- Throw an additional grenade

Items
Standard Item/Bee Layout

Standard Item/Bee Layout

The standard item layout consists of specific roles for specific types of weapons.

Weapon Layout

• Main Weapon
  
• Healing Weapon
  
• Secondary Weapon
  
• Rocket Launcher

Rocker Launchers are mainly used for Second Winds. Weapons can cover a single role, however many weapons are able to cover two roles. For example, Moxxi weapons usually cover the healing weapon role, but can also cover an elemental role. However it is not suggested to have a rocket launcher fill the rocket launcher role and also the elemental role.

Shields
Shields are very standard and don't have too much deviation. Any shields used should be level and special affect appropriate*.

*For example don't use the Cradle in solo play

Legendary Bee
The Bee is an extremely powerful late game shield; ampifing damage when at full shields and having a 0 ampify drain, allows users to have ampified damage constantly, as long as their shields are full. This turns the user into essentially a glass cannon and should be used with caution, as it is easy to become damaged and downed because of the low shield capacity. The Bee is dropped from the Hunter Hellquist found in Arid Nexus - Boneyard.

Class mods suggested for Salvador:

The Legendary Berserker Mod is a great all around mod for Salvador that boosts gun damage, lowers cooldown rate and increases all basic skills with +6.

Grenades
Having good grenades can improve gameplay alot. Some good types of grenades are:

• MIRV

Relics
Having relics that are appropriate for your playstyle is important. Some good types are:

• Manufacture/Damage
  
• Health
  
• Shield Capacity
  
• Cooldown

The builds are pretty outdated, at the time the max level was 50, however they're probably still usable. At this moment I'm not sure of the end-game meta and what the best builds are, but you can probably find the most up to date builds at the offical Gearbox Borderlands forums.
