Johnny Hotbody

Hailing from South Philadelphia, Johnny Hotbody was trained at The Monster Factory. He got his start in the Tri-State Wrestling Alliance, but when they folded he was picked up by Tod Gordon's Eastern Championship Wrestling. On April 26, 1992 he would defeat Jimmy Snuka to become the 2nd ever ECW Heavyweight Champion. Though he would lose that title back to Snuka, he would defeat Larry Winters later that year to become the first ever ECW Television Champion. In 1993 he teamed with Chris Candido as The Suicide Blondes, winning three ECW Tag Team Championship. Hotbody was ECW's first Triple Crown Champion. Johnny left ECW in 1993 to work for NWA New Jersey, winning the NWA World Light Heavyweight Championship before retiring in 2001.
