Pedro Otavio

Pedro Otavio is a more interesting figure in MMA than he gets remembered for. He was a pioneer of the sport, fighting as early as 1995, he was at the first International Vale Tudo Championship, he was an early Pride veteran and, all in all, not a bad fighter. He was a solid representative of Luta Livre, he was a tenacious, tireless fighter who took part in multiple one-night bareknuckle tournaments, he was a mainstay of the Brazilian fight scene. He never broke out of the smaller leagues, unfortunately, losing in his big, visible fights. Consequently, despite being a good and historically pertinent fighter, he's remembered for exactly two things:

1: Being nicknamed "The Pedro"
2: Losing a groin attack war against Gary Goodridge
