Early Access Review
More of the world Outlast , with the addition of co-op is so much fun.
Asylum and Temple Gate have been explored, now the third installment brings us deeper into the Murkoff Corp as a test subject participating in the Trials designed as "therapy"
the 4 core programs we have currently take place in a prison, a theme park, an orphanage, and a courthouse. There is also the Final Test... Program X, which I have yet to complete. This is all a Murkoff/CIA experiment, and you can see doctors through windows throughout the maps taking notes, which is an interesting reinforcement of the MK-ULTRA inspiration.
The game is split into the full trials, (1 for each program ~40 minutes in length) and multiple MK-Challenges, (~20 minutes). Then there are more harder variations of the same missions that you need to recomplete to finish off the program completely).
The tasks you have to complete with your friends is the fun part, with a diverse range of things to do which keeps up the fun. The gameplay loop of chases, hiding, looking for batteries ect. is preserved from the older games. The addition of friends means you should be using them to drag away enemies to give you time to complete the tasks, the co-op element is effectively encouraged, and playing with friends is naturally a blast. Hearing you or them scream as Leland Coyle or Mother Gooseberry, major enemies in the game, run you down to bring someone to a gory end is a delight. Trying to revive someone before an enemy patrols through again lends itself naturally to the fear factor.
The progression is super well done, perfection is encouraged by the grading system, A+ means no or low damage, no psychosis, pretty self explanatory. In the beginning, youll be running into traps, getting damaged ect, but eventually you start figuring the game out and becoming more efficient. There are also different items and skills that you can aquire as you go on, which when used effectively can switch up the playstyle or make the game easier.
If you cant handle gore however, this game is not for you.
As for me, ✔️sick game for sick people✔️ Definently recommend as one of the best co-op games around.

Mild and unspecific spoilers ahead
found this short, free game to be much more compelling than most AAA titles, something about the wonderfully lovecraftian thought of the insatiable search for forbidden esoteric knowledge, and the dire consequences of doing so was striking all the right cords for me.
Also the mysterious entity reminded me strongly of G-Man from the Half Life series, and was an interesting character

The setting being an endless library was great especially as it starts to get more surreal and the PS1 graphics only complimented the strong atmosphere throughout the game , though apparently some people experience motion sickness due to it.
All in all I can definitely recommend this game to anyone interested anything lovecraftian and esoteric, as well as your average gamer.

Valve's 1998 debut hit Half Life is an extraordinary game, because it was set on innovating gaming as a whole.
For years the FPS genre had followed in the footsteps of DOOM and Quake, legendary games in their own right, and as a result FPS started to feel samey. But Valve refused to follow the trodden path and masterfully created a quantum leap in new technology, pioneering into new territory, and crafting a strong narrative in an industry where in the words of John Carmack, co-founder of Id Software, "Story in a game is like story in a porn movie. It's expected to be there, but its not that important"
And valve did it again with HL2, but now when you look at the Industry today, we see history repeating itself, AAA games are feeling samey and refuse to bring something new to the table. We need to relearn how to innovate from old games like these to move forward and create truly impressive titles in the modern era of gaming.
This is the Legacy of Half Life

I saw that this game was coming and it was exactly the game I was looking for, something to quench my desire for Lovecraftian horror, I can definitely recommend this game, even if you don't like it, its short and free.

Might buy the DLC

Allow me to list what this game has done good:
1. The Story is so well done and is very compelling
2. The Setting is amazing, one of the rare games that does post-apocalyptic right
3. The Humanity, every character feels so human

This is an old game, its graphics are dated but these three things never age, I can thoroughly recommend this game
