Very good Halloween game and platformer. Art direction is excellent. The soundtrack is good. Narrative elements are lackluster when it comes to plot but it does have its moments in a few character interactions with some jokes landing. Gameplay is obviously this game's strongsuit and it shows, the platforming and fighting are fun as are the minigames and the on-rails sections. The only issues with the gameplay loop I have have to do with some weapons becoming redundant/useless, some enemies not being very fun to fight (particularly on the last level) and the boss encounters sometimes being too short or easy.

I'd still recommend this game, though. I bought it on sale but I'd be willing to buy it at full price.

Not as good as the original imo but still very densely packed with content and very replayable. Worth getting if it's on sale

Good game that isn't the longest I've ever played but is so densely packed with content that it's well worth a buy even at full price.

A lot of the writing came across as coldsteele the hedgeheg levels of edgy and I was only left impressed with the writing after going through certain story sections where I genuinely didn't know what to think was real. The gameplay loop was good but there are far better shooters out there even at this game's time of release. I didn't mind the art direction that much, but it's very hit or miss, more brightly lit areas generally look terrible but the more dimly lit sections can actually look gorgeous and hold up very well to this day. The game itself is short and not that replayable. It's only worth getting if it's on sale for at least half off then maybe it might warrant one playthrough.

Tl;dr Play with friends, game is short so it's designed to be replayed multiple times, prepare to farm, end-game content is where the fun is at, getting to end-game content will be a slog if you don't get certain DLCs for loot farms, the writing generally sucks and aged poorly, Jack is the only good character.

Good game, but don't pay too much for this if you don't have at least one friend to play with. The gameplay loop on solo is nothing to write home about and I can't recommend it at full price. The entire package was designed to be very replayable, which helps with the game's intention of having you get to max level, which is where most of the fun lies and is only possible if you do multiple successive playthroughs. If you're interested in doing endgame stuff like the OP levels then you're probably going to need to farm certain DLCs for loot, I couldn't imagine getting to OP10 without getting items from the Christmas themed DLC, otherwise I'd have put around dozens of more hours on just farming to get to the same point. Speaking of farming, you'll be doing a LOT of it! At least a quarter of all of my playtime was spent doing exactly that!

As far as the story goes, it's serviceable plot wise, but I hate most of the characters because they come across as either boring or annoying, the only likeable character was Jack, the game's villain. A lot of dialogue sounds like it was written by an avid redditor who was giggling the entire time he was making it. The writing is also full of early 2010s pop-culture references, that basically means that large parts of the writing aged like milk. The music was ok but mostly forgettable.

This somehow straddles a very fine line between action and horror and pulls it off spectacularly well. Its horror elements are top notch and actually scary, and the intentional clunkiness makes the slow paced combat feel more intense than it has any right to be. The puzzles are neat and the survival aspects are more than serviceable. The only problem with this game is that the narrative takes a very strange turn for the worse towards the end.

This is great in every way so long as you have friends to play with. The only issues I have with the game come from the UI and how unintuitive and cluttered it is.

It's hard, fun, and fair. Don't touch this if you don't like trial and error.

I can see what the devs are trying to do here and it's a somewhat neat concept, but the game in its current form should be either considered shovelware or a very early version not fit to be released on the steam store page for any price. Every aspect of this game is bare bones which includes gameplay, AI, UI, sound, and story. I bought this game for not even two bucks and with zero expectations and I still came out disapointed.
