I was expecting a wave defense with some survival aspect but the game is really a boring extraction and looting game that sometimes lets you do wave defense. Maybe some people like it but I definitely cant recommend.

Great game. There are pretty bad performance issues and occasional crashes, but overall, it's a blast to play. Those who complain about microtransactions are simply jumping on a hate train and don't know what they're talking about. Obviously, if your computer can't handle it, don't play the game, and avoid doing anything to trigger the anti-piracy protection. Honestly, it's super fun, and the availability of microtransactions has no effect on gameplay since almost everything can be obtained in-game. These are very common Capcom practices and aren't "Pay to win" when they provide no advantage and are in a single-player game. If you don't want to pay, then don't, but that doesn't mean the option shouldn't be available or that you can stop other players from doing so.

There are a few specific rumors I want to address. There is fast travel in the game consisting of ox carts and single-use items, which are fairly common if you do any exploration, that can be used to fast travel to pre-placed or custom waypoints. You don't have to pay to edit your character or pawn. There is an item available which costs rift crystals that allows you to do this. You cannot in any way pay to progress or become more powerful, except by hiring powerful pawns, which can be done anyways with freely earned rift crystals. Rift crystals are not "premium currency". Similarly to Helldivers 2's "Premium currency", rift crystals can be very reliably obtained just by playing the game and are not required for a fully enjoyable experience.

My closing remarks to sum up my previous statements: If you are capable of and okay with playing a super fun Dragon's Dogma game that will get performance updates and provides no predatory incentives to purchase in-game currency, then give it a try.
