Right, Zen Studios has been and to this day remains the biggest developer of digital pinball games on every major gaming platform be it Steam, Xbox, Play Station, Switch or Epic Games Store. This game offers a lot compared to Pinball FX 3.

The first major change is cross platform, This allows me to compete with people from all platforms not just PC players this is huge and will make aiming for high scores much more rewarding as you will be challenged by the entire community not just a single platform it is a chance to truly show your skills.

The second part involves the Epic games exclusivity on release. This had to happen because it gave devs access to unreal engine. This is a game changer that not only made the tables look better it also allowed for a better score display. Instead of the DOT Matrix display now zen can use LCD score display and animate score display as well this is a game changer on the long run for if Zen aquires Stern or Jerssy Jacks Pinball licenses they can recreat there modern tables which dont use DOT matrix display anymore.

The third change is ray tracing. Cabinet builders and PC builders alike want the most bleeding edge features when available and now they get both HDR support, better cabinet support and RTX this would not be possible on FX 3's old engine and standard PC requirements but now we have a much easier way to use cabinets and full HDR and RTX support.

The last thing I will cover in terms of changes is the in-game store. Where Pinball is concerned customization is huge we love customizing we spent a lot of time building cabinets and organizing our gaming rooms devs noted this and made it possible for us to customize our very own unique profiles in-game with cosmetics that can be purchased in-game this makes every individual profile look unique and gives it its own identity.

These changes combined make Pinball FX the ultimate platform for the future of digital pinball and this could have been done simply by updating FX 3.

PRICING:

The pricing model in this game is the same as every major pinball platform on Steam but with a twist. You buy table packs as dlcs. The argument that Steam prices are higher than Epic games is not valid there is a lot that goes on when estimating the price for one steam takes a bigger cut from purchases compared to Epic's cut in fact Steam takes Twice the amount Epic takes. In order to keep the licenses and be able to produce more tables this cost needs to be delegated to players so it makes since that the players pay the extra cost if you dont want or can't afford the current prices you are more than welcome to play on Epic but those want to play on steam know how the pricing works and can afford it. Additionally, if you are a newcomer or unsure if you will play pinball on a daily bases this game introduces a new method of buying tables not present in any other game. The Pinball Pass is a membership that can be purchased and it unlocks 90% of the tables so for a monthly or an annual fee you can have 90% of the table ready to play not to mention the fact that Pinball FX 3 owners get the tables that were previously on FX 3 at half the original price and people who are switching from Epic to steam are getting all the tables they purchased on Epic for free on Steam making the transition easy pricing wise. This is not a scam Zen studios are doing whatever they can to provide the best fair experience for pinball players worldwide.

GAME PLAY:

The game runs and plays exactly as it does on Epic games with only 1 issue and 2 improvements over the Epic games version. The only issue which devs are aware of and will fix soon is the fact that your keyboard controls don't get saved you have to edit them each time you log in which takes a minute to do.

Cabinet mode is a huge improvement you no longer need to contact anyone one to set it up and the interface is much easier to navigate on Steam compared to Epic

Ray tracing performance is much better on steam I get an average of 70-90 FPS with maximum settings and RTX enabled while on Epic I barely maintained 60 FPS with the exact same setup.
