Sonic Adventure 2: Battle was one of my favorite games on the Nintendo GameCube . I played hours on this game, trying to beat the story mode and playing the multiplayer with my friends. I made the biggest mistake by selling my game copy to GameStop to get some measly in-store credit...

When I found this in the Steam Store, I knew I had to relive my childhood. So, I bought the game, and it was a purchase I'm glad I made. I got to finally beat the game on my own and have a little fun with the multiplayer. There are many good things about this game, and a couple nit-picky things I feel I should address, which much of the other community has probably also picked up on.

Pros: This game is one of the best Sonic games out there, in my opinion. Compared to all Sonic games, it's in good standings; in 3D Sonic games, this is definitely number one for me (sorry Sonic Adventure ). It has a decent storyline, some interesting boss fights, cool level designs, and great music (I actually made Meteor Herd a ringtone on my phone at one point). The core, fast-paced Sonic levels are there, as well as some other modes, like platformer-shooter levels and treasure hunts. It's a great mix of game modes, and you can enjoy this all with your friends in the multiplayer DLC that comes with it - Sonic Adventure 2: Battle !

THE CONS LOOK LONGER, BUT THEY ARE JUST EXPLAINED MORE IN DEPTH THAN THE PROS.

Cons: One of the things you'll notice if you try this game for the first time, it is NOT a PC game. It was made specifically for consoles, specifically Sonic Adventure 2 on the Sega Dreamcast and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle on the Nintendo GameCube (for anyone not familiar with the difference, basically, it's just a bit updated graphics and a multiplayer mode on the Nintendo GameCube version compared to the Sega Dreamcast version). Playing with the keyboard is asking for trouble. Also, this is more of a personal problem, but I haven't played this game in ages, and having played newer games compared to this, many games have nearly perfected the camera angles in order to position it to your needs, but this game keeps its nostalgic touch with the bad camera angles. It's just something you'll need to get over. One last thing, since this game was on old consoles, it had no online, and from what I've seen, the multiplayer DLC does NOT allow you to play with random players online, which I was expecting and looking forward to. It needs to be splitscreen on one PC for multiplayer to play. It's still a good time either way.

Overall, I give this game two big thumbs up for keeping its original touch! Enjoy playing everyone!
