The game is almost unplayable because of Origin, I would not recommend getting it until it isn't required anymore.

And even then the game manages to look worse than the original because of how unpolished it feels and sometimes looks. The best improvement from the original is the main cast's character models.

Update after beating the game:
I can't tell if this is supposed to be a reboot or a prequel, since if it's a prequel, then when is the sequel to the prequel but still a prequel to the original supposed to come out? It could also be just a full reboot because of how much the in-world technology has been changed up from the first one, and how there essentially is only one character linking the two games, Faith. The game even hits many similar story beats to the first game, while still being different.

The biggest disappointments for me are the barely iterated, and more janky, movement of the game, and there actually being no reason to play this for story if you thought this was a prequel. I wanted to know what the fall that injured Faith for a while so that she couldn't run was that is mentioned in the tutorial of the first game, but it isn't here, and this game starts with you getting out of 'juvie' after 2 years, which makes it seem more like a reboot because of the similarities.

Either way, the game drags on a bit when doing every mission, side mission, dash (developer made time trial), and unique delivery. I finished at about 33 hours, I would have preferred 15 at most.

A fine climbing game.

The coop is in a horrid condition.

The game would work through SteamPlay/Proton on Linux, but after getting backlash for banning Linux players instead of trying to work out an anti-cheat solution that also works on Proton, Bungie has now made the game not even launch a window on Linux.

Feels good to play.

The closest thing we'll get to a new Armored Core -like game until we hear more about the next AC, although the gameplay is quite different compared to the Oldgen games. Movement is less physics based, flying is free, movement speeds are quite fast making combat kind of a mess, and damage numbers are low at least early game (11 hours).

One of the worst things in my opinion is how missions are interrupted by cutscenes, I'd much rather have had these happen during gameplay instead of taking control away from me and making the shot cinematic.

Customization isn't fully in the player's hands as the non armor plated parts seems to always be a near black color, and there's always a red accent that sometimes turns yellow during gameplay, although it seems to be more visible on some parts than others.

In general it's fun.

Still no team balance, and still has random crits. Maybe they'll fix those someday.

The game takes control away from the player to waste their time.
