Now that I have gotten every achievement in Isaac (again) I find it appropriate to finally review it. My review will include my thoughts on the base game as well as its expansions.

Rebirth when it came out was one of my favorite games. I got 100% and played almost every day. While the Roguelite Isaac formula keeps the experience fresh, I was looking for more content...

Afterbirth while not perfect overall had more to like than to dislike. The extra content had me going for many additional hours.

Afterbirth+ I frankly just did not enjoy. A lot of the content at launch was just a step down from previous iterations. The new end boss, Delirium (while still kind of broken) was the final straw and led me to take a break from Isaac, having never completed the additional challenges of the DLC.

Repentance as of November 2021 is by far the best expansion Rebirth, nay Isaac has ever gotten. Not only is the new content incredible and expansive, but it also solves many of the problems I had with old expansions. The new characters, bosses, floors, and items are all peak Isaac design. Even after the laborious progress of getting 'Dead God' I still find myself coming back to the game for a run a least once a day.

With Repentance, The Binding of Isaac has furthered cemented itself as one of the greatest Roguelite games and personally one of my most cherished and favorite games of all time.

I used to despise this game playing single player. Recently played it co-op and it kicked ass. To get it working properly you need a community patch and I'm pretty sure the uroboros boss fight is bugged but a fun experience nonetheless. Please play this game with a friend your experience will drastically improve. It went from one of the most mediocre resident evil games to an absolute blast.

Best Portal 2 mod hands down. Difficulty seems steep at first but after a little time to acclimate, it becomes much more manageable. Some feedback I would like to give:

Chamber 17 is a good test, but needs a clearer visual indicator of when the time portal is available. The door at the end was a little vague.

Some other visual indicators were a somewhat obscured as well. In chamber 23 is was a little difficult to view the vents, so I was lost for a few minutes. Once I saw they had a portal surface behind them however I could continue the test.

Beyond that great mechanic, great chamber design, well thought-out difficulty curve, and nice pace for including new concepts. If those 2 minor things previously mentioned were tweaked it would be a perfect experience.

Really not that much content for the price tag. From my experience, death is a complete reset, meaning you make zero forward progress with each run. My main gripe is the weapons breaking after 1 day. The most fun I had was when I bought a ranged weapon that let me dispatch enemies with relative ease, but come sunset, and is was ripped away from me. Cute artstyle, charming music, but overall the marriage of farming simulator and roguelite top-down shooter don't mesh very well. I found with the short time span I really had no time to explore the run-n-gun sections nor properly development my farm.

Fun little rogue lite with a nice progression system. I like how the game "levels up" as you do. Its done very naturally which makes new bosses challenging but not impossible. I also like the Greek mythology influence. They did their homework but also had some fun with it. Here's hoping for a Heracles update/DLC (if he's not already in the game and I haven't seen him yet)

Honestly I backed this game for the Shantae guest, and while I am annoyed that was cancelled, my review will not be influenced by that. Combat was fun at first then became a drag later in the game. Enemies just got more HP but didn't really get harder. Character designs were great but you can tell some characters weren't as developed as others. Honestly I wish they took like 10 of these characters and just made a fighting game with them, because being frank, the platforming was just bad and the RPG elements were implemented poorly. The writing was inconsistent, and character interactions were just nonsensical at points. I can't see myself really ever playing this game again. Also ♥♥♥♥ Mike Z.

This is a very fun, relaxing game. When I play a game I always hope to take something away from it. Sometimes its just a good time or a fond memory. Other times its a life lesson. This game is the last one. Sometimes when I play games I have the habit of rushing through them and completing them in one or two sittings. This is a game where you simply can't do that. You must be patient. You must plan ahead. You must control your impulses and delay gratification. Sure you can sell your crops immediately, but if you chose to wait several days you will profit much more. Oh you want pomegranates? Well you need to wait a month for them to grow, and even several years for them to mature. This game is full of planning ahead like that, but in doing so it encourages you to make the most out of your day and enjoy the journey along the way. That is what I took away from Stardew Valley.

This game has a lot of content. Going into this game I thought hey look 2d Minecraft. TOTALLY DIFFERENT. Once you first get into hard mode it feels like you've hit a brick wall, but once you get over the bump its back to the steady progression of the first part. Personally I wasn't a fan of corruption spreading as it felt somewhat like busywork to prevent, but that's a minor nitpick. Overall a fun game where you can really play it however you want.
