Outward is a great mix of adventure, RPG, and survival. Combat takes some getting used to, but you soon learn to wait for an opening instead of spamming attacks. While this may slow combat down, I like the realistic approach to combat that has been implemented here.

Health is valuable, and as a result there are plenty of ways to die, and plenty of ways to prevent death, such as bandages, potions, dodging, or avoiding tough fights entirely - you can come back later when you're more prepared. This may sound like a chore, but the environment provides you with almost everything you need to survive, e.g. fresh water, berries, herbs, animals for meat and hide, and so on.

There's not much of a story from what I've experienced, but the adventuring aspect of Outward overcompensates for that in my opinion.

Early Access Review
Factorio is one of the most creative sandbox games that I have had the pleasure to play. You start out in an alien world with only the most basic tools and equipment, and gradually you build a self-sustaining factory capable of defending itself against the relentless horde of aliens - or at least, that's the plan.

Instead, I find myself caught in the following endless loop:

  1. Find a problem with my factory
  2. Fix the problem, discovering two new problems
  3. Attempt to fix one of them, but end up fending off a wave of aliens
  4. Improve my defences
  5. Forget the problems I intended to fix
  6. Wander aimlessly around my factory
  7. Return to step 1

...and before you know it, it's 5am.

In all seriousness though, I really enjoy the game. Designing new setups to turn raw materials into useful components is more satisfying than it sounds. There is a huge amount of technology to research to make your factory more efficient as you progress, and the aliens grow in size, power, and population, meaning that they can be a challenge even into the late-game stage.

Co-op and mods (particularly Bob's and Angel's) make the game so much more enjoyable. With aspects of building, designing, fighting, exploring, and tower defence, I never find myself bored playing Factorio.

10/10.

I saw that the game was made by CD Projekt Red and bought it on the spot. I wasn't dissapointed; played it in my free time between work and sleep until completion.

It may not be as epic as The Witcher 3, but I thoroughly enjoyed it as a Witcher and card game fan. The story is great, there is clear progression as you put more time in, and the gameplay itself is entertaining. I'd recommend it to Witcher and Gwent fans.

The Witcher 3 is one of the best games ever made. The world you are immersed in is absolutely beautiful and is filled with quests and points of interest in a similar way to TES: Skyrim. The combat system is flawless and a thrill to use, with many techniques to win a battle, such as swords, bombs, potions and spells.

It has the classic RPG elements like character levelling, skills and equipment, which allows constant progression whether you focus on the main story or go for every last quest like I did. By far the best feature of the game is the story which is a delight to play through, with such in-depth characters and decision-making that has real consequences later on.

I would recommend this game to anyone.
