Nice concept but that is the only nice thing about it, actually playing it is painful. I understand some people like retro graphics, but this is reviving the very worst of it. Textures stretch and warp as you move, sounds are nasty and ugly and the entire thing feels like it was designed to hurt the senses.

Maybe fun with the right kind of friends, just be aware how painful it will be.

Never before have I seen such a good alpha become such a disaster, but here we are.

To be clear the alpha was peerless, perhaps one of the best games ever made. Procedural generated levels woven together in an impressive way, along with random enemies. It was desperate and glorious and tooth and nail, never knowing what would be waiting for you in the next room. It actually felt like you were progressing deeper into the heart of a cursed otherwordly place, and playing it on Hardcore was a sublime experience.

All of this is gone now replaced with some half baked version of the generic RPG game we have seen a million times before. The randomness is gone and has been replaced with an unchanging an underwhelming world, and somehow the combat just feels worse now too; Where it was tight and reliable it is now loose and floppy. The dark and beautiful atmosphere has been replaced with some cartoon parody of itself, and the brutal difficulty is gone now, along with the literally infinite replayability of the alpha.

This could have been, as the name implied, one of those legendary games people would play in fifty years time. Instead it will be forgotten in months and fade away, never to be mentioned again except perhaps as an example of squandering potential.

This is a rank and categorical failure.

A simple but excellent game that has provided me with a great deal of fun, also made by a dev who lives in the real world. Subject to a great deal of dishonest reviews as of late since the devs offended the woke Mafia with truth. Most of the negative reviews are simply lies, don't believe talk of paywalls they simply don't exist. This is yet another example of how utterly toxic and evil the woke crowd is, and if Steam keeps this up I will be buying my games from a more pluralistic company.

TLDR Game is excellent and well worth the price, try it out.

Really not impressed the balanced is so warped in this game, buildings can be destroyed so easily so it makes building defences basically pointless. This includes the HQ building which you as a commander can take down in just a few magazines from your rifle. This makes it very unsatisfying at does not at all feel like an RTS more like a FPS with units.

I was hoping this was going to be Battlezone but it is nothing like it, maybe one day this will be worth $30 but that day seems a long long way off.

Back in the old days I was playing Escape Velocity and I remember looking at that splash screen of a commander standing on the bridge of his ship with the rest of his fleet attacking, and I remember dreaming about that actually being how the game really was. Well the dream has become my new reality, and that reality is called BattleGroup VR.

This is my childhood dreams made manifest, buy it and play it and love it.

As someone who is very critical of games, this may be the first one in history to score a perfect 10/10.

Does what it says on the tin.

Pretty cool game although super buggy, expect to loose twenty hours of work when the game messes up a save file. AI is also rather braindead, so expect that too.

This game really comes across as amateur hour, so many basic things are totally missing or broken.

It gives you no info on what the classes actually do forcing you to make many test characters, to make matters worse they provide no option to delete characters (can you even imagine not including such a simple thing?) and the only way you can is to reset your entire account. To do this you must log onto their website, and good luck doing that if you bought the game through Steam.

The in-game tutorial is a bad joke and teaches you almost nothing, in addition to the button prompts being mostly wrong and telling you to press the wrong things.

There is also (far as I can tell) no option to even contact support on their website, another massive and glaring oversight. In addition they have no smooth turning, you either deal with jarring 45 degree snap or a super slow 1 degree turn that requires you to click every time; That's right holding down the button does nothing, who exactly thought this was a good idea? Honestly it seems like it was deliberately designed to damage your controllers and your calm.

Super basic gameplay, terrible controls, very underwhelming graphics and only two classes force me to give this game a 1 out of 10; I have not enjoyed it at all and it has only frustrated me so, do not recommend anyone buy this.

VR mod exists, enough said.
