Well if you can go past the POLITICAL LEFT ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ IDEOLOGY with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ pronouns coming out from USA trash bin ... my pronoun is GOD btw...

To sum up Starfield... it is just an average shot-them-up... an attempt to make FallOut 4 but in space... with same dumb AI NPCs trying to fight back a player... A linear story line which limited you to just one path regardless if you attempt different paths such like be a pirate... basically your npc "friends" would give you headarches if so you chose to be even when the game options "allow"... anyway is a nice game with considerable limitations... too much junk scattered almost on every planet... if you seen all in one you will certainly be bored of seeing the same structures/outposts/mines/natural craters/caves on all others... bah after visiting "ahh sorry exploring or so you wish".

SPACE combat... well lets be frank... baby space sim, weapons always hit the target you to npcs, npcs into you regardless... so combat in space isn't that special regardless how beautiful it can be.

Good graphics, some what interesting linear story line with broken scripting and repeating questions to same only possible outcome when the npc seem to ignore the player already know or is aware of things till that point and the some npcs only exist to waste time with no much to add to the game nor change outcomes.

One of the problems apart from dump npc AI, linear scripted dialog and leftist political ideology where not normal is meant to be normal or acceptable... is loading screens... this does break any attempt of immersion...
Mass effect creates that immersion even with loading screens but starfield playfield boxes seem too small hence requiring loading every box almost every few meters in outposts/mines...

Then you may enjoy this >> loading screen << game, because >> loading screen << has somewhat a nice story. but not as >> loading screen << nice as for example MASS EFFECT... in matter of fact, MASS EFFECT beats the >> loading screen << crap out of >> loading screen << Starfield... which is ME is immersive where >> loading screen << Starfield is not...

Perhaps is too soon, it may one day be ok to play but as it currently stands it drags... slowly very slowly to a point that there is no point wasting time playing it because currently is near unplayable. It also suffers from glitches like setting auto-parachutes threshold and the game simply triggers them so that they burn on reentry... did I say burn? Well no visual burn effects as it currently stands... so very raw product perhaps in less than alpha. Again it may one day be ok to play but not right now... skip and put your money on other game that is playable.

update 2023.08.28 still no visual burn effects on reentry atmosphere... "landing on water" that means the becoming a submarine.. because it does not float but rather stays several meters down the waves (ocean surface)... ok still needs hell of development to be worthy to be played... oh well back to other games and KSP1 till one day

update 2023.10.02 still no visual burn effects on reentry atmosphere... the parachute still auto-releases at top of the atmosphere... this would had mean burning the parachute on reentry... oh well nothing fixed... "landing on water" still means becoming a submarine... since the capsule still ends up under water some 10m... oh well lets try next year... Devs might fix something unless this game is dead.

update 2024.05.03 - head straight to KSP1 and give this KSP2 a complete miss! There is a good chances this "game" would be abandoned very soon... so spend your hard money elsewhere.

Game easy to be hacked and people losing months and years of worth gear and wasted time... no point playing a game where game developers are not responsible for protection of their players nor feel they have respectability on having a game that is protected against hack.

Maybe one day this game will be about subsistence... until that day... the game as it currently stands 26.06.2022 fails very short of such when hardening builds rely on finding locked crates and looting to build...

A game with potential however fails on that simple lack of ideas on how to introduce items required for crafting for which the random lock crates/boxes are at moment the only viable solution.

It is a nice and hard game however it sabotages all experiences with respawn of those random goodies.

A lot of micromanaging, dull time and not exciting missions.

However a good WWII sub environment and experience, dull time was part of living in a german sub at that time, micromanaging well not so much and the game can well become better one day if devs wish so, by delegating certain tasks for crew to do so (there is a game attempt in that order but still does not cover all aspects) but still is a good game in a away better in several aspects than SH series which for more than 10y I regularly play.

The less good things...

- Micromanaging
- Passing days while docked either waiting for upgrades/cargo, days repeat themselfs (bug)
- Work schedules (well keep the original or you may encounter few bugs trying to make things better)
- Graphics aren't that good but average.
- Target identification and navigation really needs a good look.
- How research and unlock of new tech in this game is simply BONKERS
- During WWII existed different types of uBoats, the game fails to present that, in this respect SH series beat this uBoat game by far.

The good things

- Unique game experience which the latest SH version failed to achieve (therefore ditched)
- Inside the Uboat matters most not just outside bang-bang-boom, and in this aspect this game delivers it quite nicelly
- Is possible to near automate your crew into doing certain tasks however not every basic thing can be automated... call it "delegate".
