It's like Kingmaker, but with less bugs on release.

Basically Humankind comes down to a wargame with different units over the course of the game. It's a TERRIBLE 4x. Similar to Civ with the barbarians dialed up to 11, your options are military tech or die. Forget doing anything else. That nice tech tree with options or the civilizations without military tech bonuses are useless. You need military units. Nothing else matters. If you didn't grab 3+ horses in the neolithic era you should probably restart because you have lost.
