It might have been a bit too conversational given the medium. I was basically acknowledging and agreeing. "That is a good one." refers to the synchronisation event. "Chance!" was just an exclamation about how interesting things can happen by chance.

It makes more sense if you imagine it being said by an excitable and demonstrative Scotsman.
