Stairs must be attached.

I will keep an eye on this one though, since the basis is good. 30,- euros is no indie-studio price tag though, so I would not recommend paying that kind of money until this is sorted.

Last NFS game I played was Underground II. I am pleasantly surprised about the way the NSW driving has evolved since that game. Let me tell you kids, back in my day you just had to press the accelerator and that was basically it, but I think this takes a bit more skill. Or maybe that's just me being 20 years older. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ kids.

Obviously it is still an arcade title, but it's fun.

It is set in a magical world where douchebag street racers are heroes and cops are evil brainless bastards that will put themselves in others in danger just to stop you, although the target audience would probably argue that part if pretty much in alignment with our reality. Also a world where ramps are conveniently placed everywhere around the city for you to drive over and land without serious consequences to your car, and where people just give you a ride on the cheap with a SLA to go with it, and where you get all the help in the world to become the next hotshot, all free of charge.

All over the top ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but lovely brainless fun. And of yeah, of course you can customize your ride both visually and under the hood. Good times.

After last years release I was pretty sure I was not going to buy this one, but it took about 3 hours until I was weak and bought it anyway.

Obviously I did not expect it, but: I have no regrets so far. This is a much more interesting experience than 2022 so far. It's tiny things that keep me coming back so far. By the looks of things there are plenty of reviews going over all of these small things, so I'll just give you what is the biggest improvement for me: It is now possible to let a contract start the next year, and I don't have to fire someone on the spot if I want to improve my team. Such a basic thing for any management title, and I can't believe they got it wrong last year but here we are. It works, and it makes me happy.

For all other small but important improvements, please see other positive reviews.

To me personally it was clear that this was always going to be a yearly released title, comparable to titles like Football Manager and Cycling Manager. But the way this was handled by Frontier was just incredibly stupid, with an anger inducing message going out and a rectification that caused even more anger once the 2023 iteration was announced. The yearly release can be defended, but the lack of transparency can absolutely not be defended. I have to think of a Dutch proverb here: "Gentle healers make stinking wounds". By not being clear about their intentions in the first place, they received much hate by being who somehow thought it would be viable for a developer to keep support up for an application that was supposed to be deprecated by this new iteration./

When in doubt, wait till this goes on sale. If you did not buy 2022, I would definitely recommend 2023. If you did, you will have to see if the small QOL improvements make it worth the purchase for you.

I think I actually start to like it more and more as I am getting to grips with the lovely mechanics. It might look like Civ5, but it's a much richer experience to me personally.

I would say that in Civ5 (don't ask me about 6) it was basically a matter of doing your chores every turn. In this game, you have to make a choice on what you want to spend your valuable resources on.

The obvious 'Civilization meets Crusader Kings' description is not incorrect, but really does not do it justice. I enjoy both series, but this is something else. I would say that you would have to enjoy a game like Civ to be able to enjoy this game.

I hope QoL stuff will come at some point so you can keep track of everything that is going on without driving all over the place and clicking. It's ok when you're starting out, but it quickly becomes messy.

Interesting game though, so keeping an eye on it.

Updating this review, since I am now spending quite a lot of time in this game!

I still think the UI is pretty clunky, which makes the learning curve higher than it has to be. Not a polished experience by any stretch of the imagination, but if you're interested in this era and like PDX games, I think you should give this a try.

I had high hopes to finally get an F1 management game that I could spend hundreds of hours on like I did with GPM2 back in 1996/1997.. this is absolutely not that game.

Maybe if this is your first F1 management game you're as blown away as a lot of people seem to be, but there really isn't much to manage here. I have somewhat enjoyed my hours so far, but it is absolutely not worth the price. I do hope F1M23 will be better, and even that updates will make this game better the coming weeks. But the design is poor, and patches aren't likely to fix that.

After a few months, I really like it! It was pretty shoddy in the beginning but most bugs seem to have been fixed.

Early Access Review
Everything looks and works flawed.. but the systems underneath are absolutely fantastic.. especially placing buildings and roads needs much work for it to be acceptable.
