I'm so so torn. I spent about 44 hours playing this game through to completion. There were parts I really enjoyed...like wandering around Sagus Cliffs, the first main city of the game. Exploring, talking (great writing BTW), etc. But there was much more that I felt was rushed, not fully fleshed out, etc. It's clear they spent a lot of time coming up with a weird, quirky story with lots of characters to talk to. But the game just wasn't "fun". What I enjoy about a CRPG is a great story, plus great exploration, plus a little strategy in a tough combat. There's no point in leveling up if things aren't progressively difficult, require some strategy, planning, luck, etc. Things were NEVER difficult or tense. The while "spend as many points as you want on a check, and just refill by sleeping" was only annoying at the beginning before you found a place to sleep. Leveling up is really kind of pointless...all you 'really' need is more points in your talent pool of choice. I so so wanted this game to be great, and from a weird story perspective, it IS great....like a good pick a path book. But everything else about it is lacking from leveling, to exploration to combat, to acquiring gear, etc. all felt like RPG lite lite. I remember people complaining that the strategy and leveling of the Shadowrun Kickstarters as being a little "RPG lite"....this is too. Before anybody says "well if you just want combat, this game isn't for you", remember, I don't "just want combat". I want good combat, challenges, leveling, story, companions, etc.......like you got in the original Torment, Baldur's gate, etc. This got the story and companions right but missed on everything else. This would have made a great book. For those reasons, I can't recommend this game like I would PoE, Wasteland 2, Divinity Original Sin, etc.

Just wanted to put in my thumbs up as an oldschool Baldur's Gate fan. I played this religiously when it first came out and was super happy with it. If you like those old games, you'll appreciate the better graphics provided today but it's everything you loved about the Infinity Games but modern day.

I waited until Baker team came out and then purchased for $6.49 so I've waited a while until the price came down to match the reviews. That said, I'm really digging it. I'm a Rambo fan and grew up watching Rambo. I remember at 14 or so when R3 came out, I loved it. Sure the graphics are not modern day but it's really cool hearing the Rambo music in the background, getting a litte bit of back story, hearing Rambo yell, etc. Also, its on rails like video games from the 90's so get your expectations right. That said, its a fun arcade game. Nowhere near worth the $40 that was originally asked (robery) but well worth $6-12 IMO...if you're a Rambo fan.

I'm absolutely loving this game. I loved Fallout 3 and thought Fallout New Vegas was good too. If you loved those games...you're going to LOVE this one too. It's EXACTLY what I expected. A bump up in graphics, some of the advances of Skyrim, crafting options if you want, hundreds of ours of exploration. Check, check, check. That's all there. I'm enjoying the heck out of it. When I'm not playing it, I'm thinking of playing it.

Some of these negative reviews are absurd. I mean, some of you guys may have expected something different, or some of you wish there was more of X and less of Y, but when given the binary choice of "play this game" or "don't play this game" and you pick Thumbs down???? Even if you think you should wait for somebody to pick it up at 50% off, how does that rate a Thumbs down. Oh, and its NOT SUPPOSED TO BE A FPS...by design.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this game. Being an RPG gamer more than a "console like adventure game" I wasn't expecting to like this much. I'd heard some game reviewers rave about the controls but I just didn't buy it. But after seeing it on Steam for $1.50 I couldn't pass it up. The only negative about this game is how short it is - about 3 hours. Other than that the story is great - graphics style is breathtaking - problem solving makes you feel like you really figured something out. They must be pointing me in the right direction in a clever way because I really felt like I was figuring things out on my own. The story telling is really well done and I felt like I was on a grand journey. I cared about the characters when good and bad things happened. I really wish they make a part 2. Well worth $7 or more IMO.
