This is probably the best purchase I've made on steam since Kerbal Space Program. A hugely expansive and detailed game, where even the vanilla version lets you do almost anything, and where the mod community takes it even further. The ammount of content is truly staggering!

I'm a notorious save scummer, having great difficulty accepting a less than ideal outcome, and I think it speaks volumes about the quality of Rimworld that I have yet to play a single session on anything but ironman mode. I have NEVER had this much fun getting my behind handed to me by a game. In Rimworld, the story is all that matters, and anything that makes the story more interesting is a good thing, no matter how much it sets your whole colony on fire.

So go ahead, try it. Settle a colony, have your only medic go on a drug binge just after a near-fatal raid, holler as your best shooter gets beaten to death by his bearded lover for being to ugly, get the plague, then experience your first nuclear winter and sit back and relax while the cannibalism kicks in.
