This game scratches an itch that I’ve had since Kerbal Space Program 2 was killed unfairly early. I’m still early in my journey but you get the exploration, the “do it how you want” building with no real expectation of how to complete your goal. The art can be a blessing and a curse, sometimes hills/obstacles feel hidden the way they are drawn.

Highly addicting for the traffic management freaks like me. Easy to start and play in a quick(ish) session too, if you are crunched for time.

Something something you either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain.

C:S was the era before the franchise became the villain. Although the numerous DLCs kind of sting.

Fun platformer with an interesting story. The arcade mini-games are appreciated too, and I'm also a sucker for any game that lets you create and share more levels.

As a long time skeptic of whether or not I would like this game, I am pleasantly surprised. It took about an hour of playing before it 'clicked' for me in game.

Stardew Valley is very relaxing in a way most other games I play are not. There is very little expected of me as the player. You can take on as much or little as you'd like, mostly in the form of tasks/quests posted to the community bulletin board. It seems like, at least early on, you can kind of ignore certain aspects of the game if you don't want to do them (ie. if you hate fishing, you don't *need* to do it to have a successful farm, or to explore the mines).

If I had 1-2 gripes early on, its that the music feels a bit repetitive, and there isn't enough time on an in-game day to do everything I want to do... which probably lends itself to being a compliment about how much you *can* do in a day in this game.

I'm hooked. This game is great on the Steam Deck, I haven't tried it on my gaming rig. Easy to pick up, play a few quick hands, and put back down (well, knowing when to stop is always an evolving challenge).
