I didn't expect this game to have so much of what I like done so well.

I recently been playing it more on my Steamdeck OLED with settings I got from reddit u/EnemyGamer for better visuals (this is what I changed to play at 800p and 30fps)

Compatibility: GE-Proton9-27

Properties > General > Launch options type in: SteamDeck=0 %command%

Graphic settings:

TSR - Custom

Resolution Scale - 40-50%

Max FPS - Unlimited

VSync - Disable

Display Mode - Fullscreen

Screen resolution - 1280x800

Anti Aliasing - Medium

Shadows - Medium

Global Illumination - Medium

Textures - Medium

Motion Blur - Enabled

Film Grain - Disable

Chromatic Aberration - Enabled

Vignette - Enabled

all else LOW

Steam Deck Performance Setting (...):

Use per-game profile - Enable

Frame limit - 30FPS

Allow tearing - Enable (better input response)

Scaling filter - Sharp

Sharpness - 0-5 (set as you prefer)

all else untouched

At this point 10 years later it's a nice to have but it's far from perfect.

-Ray tracing on the highest setting looks crunchy
(perhaps DLSS ray reconstruction could fix that but it's not available in this game)

-Framerate is still limited to 120fps
(frame generation would be useful here but it's not available in this game perhaps because the base version of the RAGE engine is over 12 years old but that's ok)

Hopefully they take the time to make these adjustments. At least for the ray tracing bug.

I understand that this is releasing at the end of the 4th quarter of the fiscal year.. so every publisher is trying to squeeze a little more money out of their existing customers (in this case by making GTA+ available to PC players) also looking at you Monster Hunter Wilds.

I would just like to see a little more attention paid to the low hanging fruit instead of being saved by mods every time.

Fun game, still rough around the edges

Frequent kicks in the beginning
"Error NE 4003" after update 1.01 (kicked me out after 1 min or so on Windows 11)

Had to adjust network settings on windows from 802.11 ac to 802.11n after switching I've been able to play for about an hour without being kicked. Before I would play for about a min or two before being sent back to the home screen.

Frame Generation is still bugged, jitters like crazy when game starts ( I turn if off, land in mission, turn it back on and it usually works from there)

I’ve been waiting for this day since 2020.. Platinum’d this game twice on PlayStation. Now I can play it at 150+ fps on an ultrawide monitor at my desktop.

It also plays great on Steamdeck.

I highly recommend Steamdeck players play at 800p/ Mid-Low settings, FSR3 (on) at 45hz with texture filtering at 16x (this game is gpu heavy on SD so turning this up will clean the image nicely by using more of the the CPU to help the GPU deliver a clean image at a stable 45fps)

PC is the best way to play this game.

The most hours I've ever played in a single game

Plays crazy smooth and Ultrawide is a whole new experience!

I would like better controller support.. but it's just like the OG pc game I played 20 years ago
