While the idea is great and there is some substance here, I feel like this game falls short on feeling. Animations, voices, UI and other gameplay elements just feel wonky and amateurish, which doesn't go very well with the highly refined visuals.

As a sidenote: I know it's an immersion thing with medieval games, but there's no rule written anywhere that characters in these games HAVE TO be the most ugly potato sacks imaginable...

Held to the highest RPG standard, this game only meets maybe a 6-7/10.

Critique: Most "challenges" are quite trivial unless you deliberately make them challenging on your own term. Choices do not matter whatsoever, nor is there any room for character development/growth for your character. Also, it has no real replayability beyond doing the same thing under a different color.

Praise: The game is quite expansive, so the lack of replayability isn't that big of an issue. They nailed the potter identity and style. Nuff said. For gameplay/combat: while it has some irks, like mouse targeting, they did succeed in creating fun and intuitive wand combat with at least some room for skill.

As a side note: Kudos to Warner & Avalanche for making a no-nonsense game. I know it's a low bar, but it has to be said. A modern AAA game without live-service, required separate account & launcher, or some other muck has become so rare. Let's hope they keep it up for future releases.

Still needs a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of work. The amount of times you get killed by cheap ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is insane. Enemies hiding behind sprites you should be able to see underneath but can't (check store page screenshot 9/10, guy could be underneath that tree and you wouldn't see him). Offers little to no skill based counterplay. You're either the first one to shoot, overgeared to hell and back, or you're dead. Realistic? Sure. Fun? Debatable. Would it hurt so much to have a just a simple dodge roll or something? Throwables like gerades? Literally anything beyond basic gunfire.

One to look out for. Quite fun, but needs a lot more polish. Animations are quite sloppy, controls are not very responsive and janky and I'm not much of a fan of the learning curve they've built. You need to read multiple community guides to understand the mechanics well enough to survive even a couple nights.

Crashes, and then gives you a matchmaking penalty for it. Whatever dev team developed this is long gone, this technical sh!theap must be maintained by interns.

Addendum: This controller on PC sh!t is getting out of control. Since EA won't listen to anything else, this damn game won't get another dime out of me until there is input based matchmaking.

2nd Addendum: Controller nonsense aside, this game progressively loses its competitive nature with every single season. This season's ranked system is such horsesh!t it's honestly an embarrassment for every developer who worked on it. Be better, Respawn.

I admittedly started playing this game late. But the good thing? I could still just pick up any DLC I liked and wanted the content from.

All you're replacing this with now is dumb FOMO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

No surprise though. Another developer down the corporate drain.. story's been told a thousand times.

People come here at complain about the 50 gig download and then go on to get the 60 gig HD overhaul mod that looks like gmod assets held together by spit and tape with the visual coherency of a random pile of leftover legos. Smh.
