Somehow even better than the base game soundtrack.

One of the absolute best in game soundtracks. The atmosphere in the game would not be as powerful without these sensational tracks.

A true choices-matter strategy game which closely resembles reality without going over the top on anything. You always have several ways to handle problems and opportunities and your choices can have completely game-changing effects. Results in good replay value too. Well worth your time and money.

My only petpeeves would be the soundtrack (its good music but way too repetitive) and that you're sometimes not entirely sure what a decision actually means because of some strange writing.

Rome Total War was my first TW game, one of the first video games I bought for myself in fact. It was a favorite back in the years and is a favorite today. The idea of a remaster got me very excited.

Unfortunately this falls short in just about every aspect. There is no noticeable graphical improvement in the campaign, but the battlefield environments and units do look slightly better. The biggest problem with the remaster is the new UI which has completely replaced the classic one without possibility to use the classic version. Huge white unused areas, yet icons and text is tiny. Unit cards are indiscernible. Things that used to take 1-2 clicks now take 3-4 clicks.

Nah, this isn't a remaster, its just a low effort attempt to exploit nostalgia make more money of a classic.

A fun little game well worth 9€. Campaign is not too long but it keeps introducing new elements on its 12 maps. And survival mode is good if you just want to mow down wave after wave of toy soldiers

NEW REVIEW DECEMBER 2020:
Well, its out of early access but still the same game with the same problems. Don't expect any more than 10-15 hours of gameplay. Sadly I cannot recommend it anymore. The developers have gone completely silent.


EARLY ACCESS REVIEW, AUGUST 2019:
A game similar to Banished in an American western setting. I like it. Beware of bugs tho, there's plenty of them. And do not buy at the full price of 23€, its not worth that much considering the game becomes a little stagnant after 3-5 hours
