I think it sucks but deserves a positive review anyway

Subnautica on land. Crafting game with no enemies, which provides a really relaxed experience as you terraform a planet by increasing oxygen levels, pressure, and heat, which in turn unlock new buildings and blueprints down their lines. The world changes as you improve living conditions, effectively changing how certain areas function entirely based on the phase of the game, without spoiling too much, rain begins to fall and ice begins to melt, opening new explorations.

All in all, I really enjoy this game.

I fought a badass alien assassin guy, and then in the next scene a giant mech attacked the city so he joined my party to fight said mech in 3 seperate boss fights leading up to us taking control of the mech itself and fighting against an enemy kaiju

30 minutes later I'm escaping an underwater base that's set to explode with a megalodon attached to it

This game does not stop being awesome.

It's like Dead Island, in that it's a lot of fun if you like to melee the crap out of zombies endlessly.

There's an implication that the child's father is abusive and beats him, but thanks to the AI voice the menacing evil dad just sounds like a power bottom.

In 2023, it still holds up to being an excellent video game, however constantly hear the bad guy in your ear taunting you is an extremely poorly aged facet of this era. While the game maintains interesting themes, the endless chatter from your comms and voice recorders found lying around ends up occupying the majority of your time in Rapture. Just because you have a lot written doesn't mean that everything you've written is good.

Please just shut up and let me blast dweebs with my plasmids.

Mechanically its a better game than the first. Plasmids are funner and gunplay is a bit better, however the obnoxious bad guy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ constantly in your ear who doesn't shut the ♥♥♥♥ up is poorly written.
