While the presentation is not the best, the game play is very fun and has a casual party game atmosphere to it. Really good with friends.

Anybody that plays arpg's will find last epoch's game design a breath of fresh air, with mechanics that are both intuitive and fun, and a skill tree system designed to allow a wide range of viable builds for any kind of playstyle.

This game is an amazing roguelite. It lets you do anything you can think of with dice, with lots of different deck archetypes that are satisfying and powerful. My one con is the mutation stages can get very oppressive at high tiers, which makes the game a lot more tedious. I always prefer things like more enemies with more health and damage than "you can only play 6 spells a turn" or "destroy one dice for every three rolled" it removes some of the fun of the game.

I spent the majority of my time in this game trying to interact with the settlement system and planet exploration (big mistake).
It seems interesting at first, There are a dizzying number of resources that can be extracted from planets, which then can be used to craft items. Each planet also has its own anomalies which I thought would be a cool modifier to the resources generated on the planet or something.
My goal was to funnel all the resources from different planets into one planet that could then use it all to craft whatever I wanted. I quickly realized the whole cargo and resource extraction system was horribly designed. I'll break it down into the worst of it:

1. There is no simple way to organize resources, creating a jumbled mess of stuff everywhere.

2. you cannot set up logic systems to change the rate that resources are mined or how power gets to the extractors

3. you have to do extensive research to know the throughput of things like cargo ships and even then there are bugs that change it.

Oh, and also planet anomalies don't change how you interact with the planet in any way, they just look cool? I have no idea why they spent so much time making all of this. Its just a worse and frustrating version of Factorio. Did any of the devs play Factorio?
The rest of the game is things we've already experienced before in other bethesda games but in a dull and boring setting, with no improvements or expansions to any of the systems, ACCEPT! For the ship building. That was the only interesting part of the game. Wish we could build space stations or something like that. Guess they will just sell it to us in DLC. AAA gaming sucks.

Really cool game that scratches the itch that Lemnis Gate has left me, using yourself as backup in a strategic way to complete particular objectives. One thing that stands out about the game is that every mission in the campaign has many unique ways to tackle it and the constant addition on new gameplay mechanics keeps the game feeling fresh. I had a lot of fun with the friend pass, the game has really good co-op. I'm excited for future expansions to the campaign.

This game is extremely annoying. I know its a peg game and there is some degree of randomness involved, but there is just way too much. Sometimes you will want to aim for a shop only for the navigation to throw you into an elite battle instead, which is the worst part of the game. A run can be won by getting a good shop right before a boss, and to sometimes have it feel like I dont really have a choice just sucks.
I think the refresh mechanic is bad because wasting 3 turns to try and hit a refresh peg that is blocked by a bunch of pegs in a corner makes it seem mandatory to get some sort of refresh ball or relic which is not guaranteed. This is all on higher cruciball difficulty so on the base difficulty these frustrations aren't as apparent. I was going to give a good rating but trying to climb cruciball ranks is a horrible experience, and i dont like a roguelite where the easiest difficulty is the only fun one.

Decided to play this after Arkane's disasters, and after hearing about the good games they used to make. This game was incredible and has aged like fine wine. There is no way the same people that created this still work at Arkane.
I did two play-throughs to see both kinds of endings which is rare for me. The map design with all the ways to approach each mission, the simple but smooth combat and the super fun magic abilities are what make this game a pillar in the stealth genre.

Really good 4X game. So many playstyles to explore and mechanics to interact with. There are some bugs which can be annoying but if they fix the bugs and the expansions add more victory conditions and sea content this game will be the beat 4X game ever made, I really recommend it.

An amazingly unique game. Fast and precise movement and shooting mechanics with great building tools which lets you think up devious and clever traps to kill players that try to raid your outposts.

The main issue I have of the game is its difficulty system, which does not accurately portray how hard an outpost is. A lot of current player frustration stems from the fact that many players are attempting the hardest difficulty outposts ("brutal" difficulty) with starter gear and perks, and playing these outposts can range from a walk in the park to something insanely hard and cannot possibly be beaten with starter gear. I think this large variance with difficulty should be looked at because the playerbase seems to expect to be able to beat every outpost without breaking a sweat, even ones that should be the hardest possible to run.
