A great game that still holds up today. Fun battles, satisfying empire building, and great mod support. Well made Halo, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, and Star Wars mods exist for this game. A sequel called Sins of a Solar Empire 2 is currently under development, with early access available on the Epic Games Store, so look out for that when it releases on Steam finally.

Fun and deep building mechanics combined with a solid survival gameplay loop. Just needs more to do in survival worlds. Maybe optional bosses to fight? Like an ender dragon type encounter, where it doesn't interfere with the sandbox, but if you choose to fight it its an optional objective to build towards.

really satisfying gameplay loop. really looking forwards to future updates to fix bugs and jank. The potential for this game is off the charts.

EDIT 2: On reflection this game's story doesn't hold up to replays, and systems aren't deep enough to be enjoyed a second time through. Wait for the release of the Creation Kit and proper mods that add new gameplay elements to the game to make this game worth your money/time.

EDIT: I've finished the game, and I can safely say that this is the best bethesda RPG so far in stock form. Bethesda games tend to age like fine wine due to community mod support, so if you find shortcomings in reviews about UI, UX, or the repetitiveness of this game, its definitely okay to wait until the creation kit comes out.

A true evolution of the Bethesda RPG formula we all know and love. More factions to join, bigger cities, and sooo many quests to do. At first I thought that the randomly generated aspect of this game would make it feel repetitive and bland, but the sheer amount of detailed quests and handcrafted environments makes this game feel massive. There is so much to do, new quests and things to do pop up at every turn.

Space combat is a bit simplistic, but it is still very fun and rewarding to dial in your ship juuust right. Even though this has been the most stable bethesda game I've ever played in vanilla form, it still has that signature bethesda jank (if a bit more polished). Small things like if you are stuck in a ship's landing bay while it takes off, you fall out, causing many to believe you can't ride it out into space.
I'm 50 hours in and I'm not even scratching the surface of the content available.

My only word of caution is to take your time to figure out and understand game mechanics. The game throws a ton of things at you at once, and people often miss things that could help them. Use your scanner by pressing F, it is a true lifesaver.

Wii Play tanks for PC, but enhanced with so much more! So nostalgic but with some insane features that freshens up the package. Highly recommended for couch coop and online coop.
