(Note: ~230 hours are recorded from the base PSO2 game)

At the date I'm writing this, the base PSO2 game is on life support (expected, as they planned for people to slowly migrate towards NGS) - which wouldn't be a bad thing, if NGS itself didn't suffer from: poor design choices (see: gigantix monsters), inability to make a profit if you don't buy the monthly premium pack (access to selling items to other players is locked behind it, roughly $15) and severe lack of content (main story can be finished in ~10 hours, leaving the player with nothing to do beside their dailies/weeklies and other grinding activities), all these, especially the last, being inexcusable for an MMO launching in current year.

If you can get past that, then you'll find a really social game, allowing players to express themselves with the myriad cosmetics and emotes.

If not, then I suggest steering clear of this game, or returning at a later date when it has more flesh on its bones.
Until then, I cannot recommend it.

If you are a fan of match-3 games (especially the Puzzle Quest series), this is for you.

I played for a decent amount of time to confirm that the game is NOT P2W. It -does- have methods to speed things up, and acquire your resources faster, but all of these will come to you in time, as you progress (don't forget to join a guild, it really helps!).

The community is really friendly, and the devs are actively involved.

Like Roguelikes ? Names like Binding of Isaac or Dungeons of Dredmor catch your attention ? Then look no further : countless hours of dying, tons of item combination and endless waves of monsters, all ready to take up your time.
