Dota 2 requires a massive time investment to learn and even more to master. If you're new to MOBAs, the early learning phase is a chore.

The game offers endless strategic depth and creativity, especially during the discovery phase when experimenting with heroes, builds, and playstyles is still rewarding.

But once competitiveness takes over, Dota can become one of the most toxic gaming experiences out there. It stops being about fun and experimentation and turns into optimizing every detail, farming item X by minute Y, sticking to your role and hero pool, and grinding MMR. Your teammates will resent you, and eventually you’ll resent them too.
