Beautiful and mostly fun, ultimately not a game for everyone.

Good:
- Amazing art. Absolutely gorgeous.
- Fun game-play mechanics.
- Engaging story.

Bad:
- Tough controls at times (both on keyboard and mouse AND on gamepads).
- Hard to follow progression.
- No map.

If you are a fan of games like Dark Souls and Elden Ring you will find yourself having lots of fun with this one. There is a big drawback, that even though the game feels great, makes me sadly not recommend it. It's a hard to love game that ultimately is not for everyone.

The drawback described above is mostly lack of difficulty scaling and progression tracker and map.
I can see what the devs went for: they wanted to create a game where one is encouraged to explore freely and discover wonders of a word, not bound to a map or a traditional sense of progression. I think that is a great idea but ultimately the execution feels forcing and punishing at moments.

There are players out there who will enjoy immensely the freedom of not being bound to a traditional map and progression. That is great. But what this game really lacks is options. It needs right at the beginning to ask you if you want to be bound to a more "hard" and self exploratory experience (that would be no map and no progression tracker) or if you want an "easier" experience where you are given a map and at least a little booklet what does NOT spell out where to go and what to do in bullet points (that can be annoying and ruin experiences, I agree!) but instead give you a "flavor text" where when you read and dig between the lines you at least have a vague idea of where to go next.

The lack of the above forces one to often wander aimlessly or seek online guides that hopefully will give a little hint to where to go without spoiling (I hate using guides, I never do, yet going away for a bit from this game and coming back to it made me feel forced to look up a guide as the lack of even flavor text explanation of how far I am into my progression made me be completely lost).

With a few options like the above, this game will be a hard "yes", totally recommended.
If its something that you the reader think you can get over, then read my review as "recommended" and go for this game.

Really fun and good gameplay.

As far as it goes for maps, guns and mechanics, the game is incredibly well crafted.
Art is gorgeous and slick.
Music and sound effects aid gameplay quite well.

Only drawback as of the time of writing this is the progression and lvl-ing system that takes way too much time and effort and the rewards are little.

Hopefully they will take up the comments from the community and fix that.

Great battle royale. One of the best out there right now.

Guns and legends (the heroes in the game) are really interesting and engaging. The guns feel great to play with although do not expect anything like CS:GO. Gun mechanics and play in this is trying to accomplish something quite different and it plays well, for casuals and pros alike.

Graphics look gorgeous. There are new maps quite frequently and visuals are always top end.

The developer (Respawn) is great and always listens to the community. They recently did a big change in improving the battle pass in the game to be more like what people envisioned, after they changed it to something that was way too hardcore for the audience.

Servers have hiccups from time to time but nothing too major or game breaking. Connection is usually good.

Game is well worth playing and investing time in.

(My time played is nearly 650 hours on the Origin Launcher, where this game was before Steam)

A story worth going through, executed with amazing visuals and 10/10 writing.
You can really relate to the characters, see their struggles and their thoughts through the game. One of the very best story driven games out there.

Mechanics and gameplay are quite original, compelling, and you will not find yourself bored.

Graphics are industry standard for AAA right now, combining both photogrammetry of real world assets and assets that are hand-crafted but high detail level in order to merge with the rest.

Highly recommended to play!

This game came in surprise for me, as I did not know what to expect, but it turn out real nice.
The artwork is amazing, the overall atmosphere captured pretty good. Puzzles are not too hard but still make you fell nice after you complete them.

I have had only one problem for now, and it is the broken archievements. To my knowledge the developers are working towards fixing it.
