Always keep your crosshair aimed head. Don't run around staring at the floor. This will ensure much quicker head shots when you encounter an enemy.
Use a low mouse sensitivity (Mine is 1.5). Keep raw input on and mouse acceleration off.
If you want to get good at a game then you have to practice it. Practice a least 5-20 minutes every single day. It all adds up and you will improve over time.
morale is very important in a team based game. If you treat your teammates badly then they are more likely to perform worse. If you treat them good and tell them they did a good job, then they are more likely to play better. Always be a good team player. No one likes a loser that cries over a game.
Movement in CS:GO is just as important as aiming. Practice offline moving around the map strafing and shooting straight. When you are peeking around corners try your best to only expose yourself to one angle at a time as you move and clear out. If you learn proper crosshiar placement before turning corners then you can easily head shot people without having to rely so much on flicks.
If you get ambushed by multiple enemies, Do not PANIC Try to take out the easiest target first and go form there. If you buckle from panicking then you are more likely to miss your shots and get yourself killed quicker.
Situational awareness is the key to survival and victory. Always pay attention to your surroundings. Keep tabs on your radar/mini map and use a headset so that you can hear foot steps and gunshots to determine exactly where they came from. Keep an eye on your teammates and make callouts!
Many people get into the bad habit of reloading after every kill. This often leaves you vulnerable to other enemies nearby and can easily get you killed because you can't fight back for a few seconds. Reload only when you either run out of ammo or when you know you will be safe for the next few seconds. "Switching to a pistol is also faster than reloading" ;) If you get caught in a pinch.
Hardware matters. Use a high refresh rate monitor 120hz+, mechanical keyboard, good mouse with selectable DPI, good headset with digital surround 7.1 and a computer that cna maintain high FPS.
