Early game impressions after 10 hours in sandbox mode:

TL;DR: Crust is an easy recommendation and stands strong among Factorio alternatives like Dyson Sphere Program and Satisfactory.

The early game is slightly more complex compared to similar titles. It introduces a lot of mechanics right away, including byproducts, which might feel overwhelming. One aspect I didn’t enjoy is that early buildings require resources produced by those same buildings, forcing you into a specific build order. This creates a hard limit on how much you can construct without risking resource depletion or getting stuck. While this issue can be mitigated by unlocking resource trading early on, it was a bit frustrating to notice initially.

The contract system is excellent. However, in the early game, it generates a lot of contracts that feel unrealistic. This might just be to showcase what's to come, as it doesn’t cause any significant issues—you’ll have plenty of factions to interact with, so I was never left without something to complete.

The science tree UI is extensive but suffers from wasted space. Adding text under the icons and implementing a search function would improve navigation and help locate specific research more efficiently.

The UX is solid for Early Access. Players familiar with the genre should adjust quickly, though there is a bit of information overload, with features visible from the start that won’t be accessible for the first few hours. Perhaps hiding those until they are unlocked through research would streamline the experience.

Most importantly, Crust is fun. It requires some problem-solving and optimization of underground space, but it doesn’t heavily penalize early mistakes. Despite the large amount of information presented everything was logical and I never felt that it was too much to handle. Aside from the occasional time pressure when fulfilling urgent contracts, it’s the perfect game to relax with on a Sunday evening.

TLDR Game is a top tier ARPG/HnS, don't miss out on it because online servers are dead. You can play whole game and enjoy everything completely offline.

---

Last Epoch emerges as a beacon of promise in the realm of action RPGs, offering a rich tapestry of features that blend seamlessly to create an immersive gaming experience. With its diverse range of builds, fluid combat mechanics, and intricate itemization akin to Path of Exile, Last Epoch solidifies its place as a contender in the genre.

One of the standout features of Last Epoch is its exceptional build diversity. The game empowers players to experiment with various combinations of skills, talents, and gear, allowing for a truly personalized gameplay experience. Whether you prefer to wield devastating spells, unleash relentless melee attacks, or master the art of ranged combat, Last Epoch accommodates your playstyle with aplomb.

Combat in Last Epoch is a joy to behold, characterized by its fluidity and responsiveness. Engaging in battles feels intuitive and satisfying, thanks to well-crafted animations and precise controls. Each encounter is a thrilling dance of strategy and skill, keeping players on their toes as they navigate through hordes of formidable foes.

The itemization system in Last Epoch rivals that of Path of Exile, offering a depth rarely seen in the genre. With a plethora of gear to discover, enchant, and customize, players are afforded near-endless opportunities to fine-tune their characters to perfection. The crafting system further enhances this depth, providing players with the means to forge truly legendary equipment.

Graphically, Last Epoch impresses with its stunning visuals and meticulously designed enemy models. From lush landscapes to terrifying creatures, the game's environments are a sight to behold, drawing players deeper into its immersive world.

However, Last Epoch is not without its flaws. Server issues marred its launch, causing frustration for many players. Nonetheless, the ability to play offline sets it apart from other titles in the genre, offering a welcome reprieve for those seeking a smoother experience.

Additionally, while the end game in Last Epoch may feel somewhat lacking in depth compared to its contemporaries, it nonetheless provides ample content to keep players engaged. With updates and expansions on the horizon, there's plenty of room for growth and improvement in this regard.

In conclusion, Last Epoch stands as a testament to the potential of the action RPG genre. With its exceptional build diversity, fluid combat mechanics, and intricate itemization, it offers a compelling experience that will keep players coming back for more. Despite its launch hiccups and minor shortcomings, Last Epoch shines as a diamond in the rough, poised to carve out its own legacy in the annals of gaming history.

If you're a gamer with a love for the skies,
Starfield's the game that'll make you rise,
It might not be for everyone, that's clear,
But for space adventurers, it's the frontier!

Cheap, low-poly old-school battlefield. That's it. But as it's early access let's talk about what is already great and what needs some improvements.

Overall balance between classes and guns in my opinion is great, with a couple of exceptions (SMG's seems way too good for mid range fights, basically they are rifles with way higher RPM) but nothing major. The thing I would want to see adjusted are points for some of the actions that would allow other classes to match the level-up speed of the medic.

Huge maps, great design, each mode offers a little bit different experience. but the playable area on smaller modes (ie 32x32 rush) is a bit weird, usually way too small, sometimes you have no space between capture points and friendly/enemy territory -> you will be shot a second after you move from spawn.

One thing that really needs improvement is the sound quality - guns, ambient sounds, etc it's just too flat sometimes, hard to differentiate between some weapons.

Character models. I don't mind the low-poly style, but chars can be made much better - there are some really good examples on the UE asset store of low-poly soldiers. Nothing that needs to be changed soon but maybe something to be worked on in the future.

And finally - cheaters, the first few days like always were pretty smooth, but you can already see some fresh accounts popping out with insane stats and accuracy, waiting for you to enter windows from the next building, etc Let's be real - cheating, unfortunately, will never be fixed unless we will have some sort of global hardware ban in every game. Replacing easy anti-cheat with Faceit should help a lot tho, so hopefully, this will be rollout asap.

Edit: comment about SMG in balance section

It was fun while it lasted but the game is completely broken and unbalanced (even more after the current patch, which is an achievement on its own).
