Great game. One of my favorite in the last 5 years.

Just because it's standard rougelite shoot 'em up #17 doesn't stop it from being fun. It's a little grindy to unlock stuff, characters especially, but other than that, it's a fun 2d platformer/shooter. The only thing I feel like it could really improve on is making it a little friendlier to try and melee stuff, since there are a ton of melee enhancing items, but trying to melee attack things, especially in later levels, is an exercise in how to start a run over.

Come for the story, stay for the side-stories, hidden one-shot stories, and the massively deep character customization. But also stay for the great on-going development, the near-constant tuning and balance, and the massive power of modding for this great game. If you liked Diablo 2, but hate Diablo 3, give Grim Dawn a shot, it's the modern ARPG you've been looking for.

I have never, ever had my heart get to 160+ bpm while sitting down before getting to my first game of PlunkBat with the blinking "(2) Players" in the top right corner. That was so intense, I had to take a 15 min break to breathe before I could play again.

Quite fun. Basically do anything you ever wanted to with magic, in any color/style/flavor you'd like. Ricocheting lasers that penetrate walls? Check. Homing missiles that break into multiple shots mid-flight? Check. Instant Transmission at six times a second? Check. Massive world-ending fires? Check. Summoning hordes of minions that slow down your computer? Check. Seriously, if you can dream it, you can probably make a spell for it.

Get this if you like to play GTA/Saints Row style games, but wish you could grapple onto a helicopter, hijack it, then use it to destroy an entire military encampment, followed by parachuting out, grappling to a jet, then flying a bombing mission into a city. No joke.

If you like old school platforming, this game will make you satisfied in the pants.
