BONEWORKS is the 3rd VR game by Stress Level Zero, and also the predecessor to the 2022 VR hit BONELAB. Despite this, the game still holds up incredibly well, visually, thematically, and technologically. Many concepts are the same throughout the games, such as the main focus of a well-developed physics system, an emphasis on gunplay, and a continuous plot throughout the both of them.

Within the fanbase, however, there is a split between fans who believe BONEWORKS is the better game, due to it's well-developed campaign and several hours of post-ending content, and fans who believe that BONELAB is the better game, due to it's expanded mod support and several QoL improvements. While I don't want to pick any sides, I do agree that BONELAB at launch was fairly worse than BONEWORKS, however it has improved since then, and will most likely be improved soon.

The story of BONEWORKS is very deep and is hard to understand ingame, however watching a video or reading up on the story outside of the game, it's incredibly deep and thorough. The graphics of BONEWORKS are very well made, and the artstyle is very much well developed and stylized. Due to this, it does require a somewhat decent PC to run at a steady framerate, but it can be played at minimum settings on a wide variety of hardware.

As stated before, BONEWORKS has a heavy emphasis on physics, which affects the world as well as the player. Sometimes, the movement feels like total garbage, as well as the holstering, or grabbing, or interacting, but when it works, it works. These systems were improved in BONELAB, but they still hold up relatively well in BONEWORKS.

BONEWORKS has an incredible soundtrack, and so does it's sequel. Michael Wyckoff does a very good job of portraying the environment through their music, I would often listen to the soundtrack on it's own when doing work or playing other games.

Overall, BONEWORKS is a solid contender for one of the best VR games of all time, just for it's style, physics, soundtrack, and story. SLZ truly put a lot of work into BONEWORKS, and it shows very much in the final product. I do find myself coming back and playing BONEWORKS even after the launch of BONELAB (partly because BONEWORKS actually works on Linux, but also because of the amazing story.) Overall, I feel comfortable giving BONEWORKS a 9/10.

I Wani Hug that Gator! (or Wani, as I will be referring to it as) is the "sequel" to Cavemanon's previous title, Snoot Game. That game was already amazing, however it was also glamorized for it's improved story compared to the game it was parodying, Goodbye Volcano High. It's story was incredible, don't get me wrong, but it's popularity was heavily influenced by it's mocking of KO_OP's sad attempt at a story. Wani, however, is it's own project and has very little ties to Goodbye Volcano High, and using that freedom they decided to create one of the most emotional, heart-breaking, and funny stories I've ever seen in a video game.

You play as Inco G. Nito, a faceless bald-headed highschooler (just for the sake of creating a stronger bond between player and character). In your senior year, your parents have to move one more time for their jobs, leaving you with no personal connections in the "best years of your life". That is, until you meet Olivia, a gator who's lost the ability to use their lower legs. Though things may start rocky, you will begin to realize just how much you care for her, and how much she cares for you.

The graphics of Wani are deceiving. Most of the game is simple character poses moving around to simulate talking. Then, BAM! FULLY ANIMATED CHASE SCENE! What I'm trying to say is, when the game wants to be simple, it's simple. When it wants to "knock your socks off", it knocks 'em into the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stratosphere.

Obviously, looking at this game from an objective standpoint; yea, that's furry. And I'm so mad that it is, because so many people will be deterred by it's characters that they'll miss it's moving story and likable (or hate-able) characters. But, if you like this kind of thing, it's breathtaking.

There is no main soundtrack to this game, mostly just groups of royalty-free tracks that can be used anywhere. I would've liked to see a song with actual singing, but what we got is fine.

Wani's story is a bit tough, because while it does treat the disabled very kindly, it also has a bully say the words, TW: Derogatory terms, retarded and cripple. Overall, however, I believe it's all kind-spirited, as the character who says them kinda gets what they deserve by the end.

In summary, I Wani Hug that Gator! is a true passion project from the... let's just say dedicated... team over at 4chan. It hits all the important points of a story, unlike a certain other story *cough cough* Goodbye Volcano High *cough cough*, and overall, it creates a masterful connection to the player, just to use that connection to toy with the player's heart. And for that, all I can say is... thank you.
