This game is impressive, and is definitely well made despite the few bugs remaining, it has got stunning visual effect, irreproachable, clear and credible voice acting, the medieval ambiance is perfectly transcribed and the combat mechanics are well rounded.
Yet there are some issues that tarnish the table, few bugs, like NPC disapearing (or dying ?) making some quests impossible to complete, this forced me to start a new game just to get the related missing achievments.
But as surprising as it could sound, the most annoying and frustrating thing that i encountered in this game are the bushes, you can't walk throuht them (just like you can in others games), i played 200 hours and probably spent 50 hours (no jokes) being stuck in the f***ing bushes, the fact that you can't save when you want, make any bug, crashes and other issues really devastating, cause you can easily loose a lot of progress.
There are also some random encouters that i just could not understand the purpose, as i say, saving is costly (not that much end game) and it is possible to encouter 5 fully armored guy into a random ambush when travelling, even at the begining of the game (to be honest, it is also deadly end game), the fighting mechanics are not as bad as some says, but it isn't as good as in "Mount & Blade" for exemple, and it is a nightmare against more than two ennemies as you are forced to focus into one ennemi only, being able to counter only him while the others slice you from everywhere, there are some fight you just can't win, in the open, it is not dramatical, you can ruse and outsmart them. But what is the purpose of those random encounter if the only result possible is your dead ?
And how punishing it is when you loose half an hour or even more depending of when was your last save ?
Well i am going to be honest, i mostly enjoyed the game, but the bushes and other little issues are so wrong and frustrating, that i am not sure i would recommand it to you, even if it is breathtakingly beautiful.
KCD 2 is in development, and i already know that i won't be playing it.
I had a lot more fun playing "TES Oblivion" years ago, and even if i played it only few hours, i know that "TES Skyrim" would have been a lot more fun than KCD.
The good point to KCD is that this is historical (and mostly accurate) and i widely prefere this set up over fantasy games.
Don't hesitate to buy it for the appealing visual and voice acting but be ready to suffer quite a lot of frustration proportionally..
