... eh?
I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Darktide to new players at this time. As everyone says, the gameplay is great. If you have the patience to deal with crashes/infinite loading screens, it's a damn good game. However, just saying "deal with the bugs lol" is a weak argument. The game's in shambles. Once Fatshark is done taking their sweet time bringing the game up to the standards of Vermintide 2, I will recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat. Until then, just wait unless you are very patient. I will continue to play, but that's just because I get lucky with loading and RNG drops.

EDIT: The release of the Anniversary update shows a MAJOR upturn in both quality of life and quality of missions, as well as their environments. Very promising so far.

You know, I'm usually the guy to write long-winded reviews, detailing everything I find to be good or bad about a game.

But for this? Who cares.
RIP AND TEAR!

As much as I want to enjoy Downward, with it's great style, cool concept, and what should be enjoyable gameplay, I can't. For starters, the graphics are buggy as all hell. I usually wouldn't see this as an issue, but considering this game seems to be aesthetic-based, this is a rather large issue. The script is alright, but the delivery is sub-par. It attempts at an open-world aspect, which I can respect, but how they go about it is... not too great. Past the tutorial you're quite literally dropped into a large area with no general objective. Downward has great potential to be a fantastic first-person parkour adventure game, but in it's current state, it's merely a husk of what it could be.

I highly doubt this review is necessary, but I must say this regardless. No this isn’t for the Steam Awards! ...okay shut up. Regardless, I must say that this game is one in a million. I’ve never been a fan of team based FPS games, but this is still one of my favorite games to ever play. With it’s mixture of humor, variety of weapons, subclasses, and, of course, hats, what’s not to love? (Maybe the lack of updates) I may not have too many hours on this game, but I don’t see myself stop playing anytime soon. Valve has always made borderline revolutionary games, and Team Fortress 2 is no different.

Great game. Spent 5 hours straight playing with friends. I played the first game on XBox, and I loved it. I am not disappointed in the sequel.

Great way to spend spare time when you have nothing else to do. It has potatoes.
