You get six "worlds" and a fun concept of using geometry with rhythm. The level design is great, and offers something for players at all skill levels despite having simple one-button controls. With the cheap asking price and promise of more levels to come, you really can't go wrong if you're looking for a quick rhythm game fix.

Makes you feel like a kid again because of the game's charm and Hat Kid's infectious glee.

Catchy songs, interesting gameplay, what else do you need? Necrodancer has had me pounding at my keyboard for hours on end, and that's not just because of its difficulty.
I'd reccomend this to fans of rhythm games (Even if it doesn't get much more interesting that keeping the beat, that's what the combat is for) and for fans of difficult rouge-likes.

All in all, the game is pretty good. It definetely helps if you view it as a "Visual Novel with adventure game elements" rather than "An adventure game with a lot of text". This game doesn't really stray from its story too much, but there's plenty of humorous lines to be found in each scene.
One thing that really bothered me was how the characters can go from liking you to hating you on the flip of a coin depending on what you say. Makes the whole experience a bit more stressful than it has to be. A few segments are one-time-only deals, but I suppose that's what replays are for.
I'd reccommend this for fans of adventre game-esque visual novels (Like Ace Attorney) as well as for fans of character-driven plots in general, even though some of the characters might get on your nerves in this one. But hey, it's the same for real life.
