Monster Train is a rogue-like deck builder like the many that came out after Slay the Spire's success. It has three key areas that give it a lot of replay value:

- First, it has 5 races and you have to select two of them to play (primary and secondary clans), this makes builds so unique that it never gets stale.
- Second, you can summon monsters to fight for you, this adds fun role dynamics like tanking or damage dealers. You also have a hero-like character for every race.
- Third, enemies have to progress through 3 lanes in order to attack your core health. This adds a lot of fun strategies just by placing and moving your army around.

I loved Slay the Spire but Monster Train is even better.

Loved the gameplay, the game paces the upgrades so well that it never feels stagnant. I've also never played any character that was controlled quite like this, it really makes you enjoy terrorizing everyone.

Not having a map makes sense given you're a monster, but it makes it a chore to go back to get all the unlockables.

Rather short but still a must play.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is what would happen if a AAA publisher would have taken Hollow Knight with a big budget.

Graphics and animations are stunning, and the movement abilities are bar none. The game even abuses the abuses this with several chase sequences and races but it never gets old because all the abilities are so fluid.

Where it could use some work is balancing the attack skills, some abilities are just too powerful and they will carry you the whole game. If you're trying to get a sense of the challenge, the hard mode is easier than Hollow Knight.

Must have either way.
