What a masterpiece. Unforgiveable that it isn't a household name.
For me personally this game ranges between 8/10 and 10/10 depending on how burnt out I am from all the puzzles.
But the story, the characters and the world all stay at a consistent 10/10.

The worst part about this game is the huge gaping void it's left in my chest since I finished it.

This game genuinely feels very complete despite being in early access.
I have a handful of minor gripes such as scourgestones being tedious to farm and some items being 20/stack which just clogs up your storage too much, but besides that I have wholeheartedly enjoyed just about everything the game as to offer currently and I think that it is well worth the price you pay for it.
Just thinking about potential future content gets me all giddy and excited. GG

I don't usually write reviews but this game has some serious potential if they work out the kinks.

In my opinion the main thing they need to work on is the new player experience. As a new player you get greeted by no mandatory tutorials or anything like that which is a good thing, however this is a game where you NEED a good tutorial. There is a tutorial in the game but it covers: Shooting, Picking up items, Shooting Locks, Placing two different kinds of items for breaching and that's it. All of this would no doubt be helpful if I had any idea how the main gamemode works.

You have only one option while queuing: "Casual" and it is jam packed with strategizing, drawing on maps, different colored doors on the map, looting your loadout for the round (from an apparently limited surplus of guns). There is no easily available tutorials ingame to teach you even the basics such as how much damage your weapons deal and how much health you or your enemies have. The UI is very distracting and seems to focus on form over function. That also goes for the odd choice of having music blasting in your ears as the round goes on... in a tactical shooter???

The casual gamemode itself is also really weird in the sense that after every round you change map (to my limited knowledge anyways). This causes massive loading times between each round which makes for insane downtime for you if you are to die. This also doesn't provide new players with the opportunity to get a feel for the map but instead get taken to a brand new one which just makes the new player experience all the more frustrating.

With all this said I believe this game has a lot of potential. The core gameplay feels okay and the graphics are REALLY nice. But as it stands right now the game is not really worth getting into in my opinion.

After trying the game out for a handful of hours I can say for sure. Garry's Mod is populated almost solely by furries and autistic people. Every community is filled to the brim with racists/furries/LBGTQ people. This has also lead me to yet another discovery. God I'm ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ autistic bro.

I am so sad. I am left-handed which basically means that the game is unplayable for me RN unless I want to play it in right handed mode which would make my experience so much worse. For a company like Valve I am surprised how their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ left handed controls made it past 20 minutes of testing by ANY left handed person. It's beyond me what they were thinking. Not to mention that smooth turning is broken which makes it even more unbearable.

EDIT: Left handed mode still not made playable for human beings. I'm glad they added smooth turning though but I'm still basically unable to play the game which sucks.

EDIT 2: They finally did it the absolute madmen. I have already played a bit of the game by using right handed controls so I can say for sure that it's absolutely fabulous! I can't wait to play with left handed controls. Thank you Volvo! <3
