Unfortunately, I can't support any game that used AI art in its final release. It's a no from me.

This game's age shows absolutely. While I enjoyed the aspect of slamming ghosts against the wall, nothing felt more violent than Venkman's overbearing hitting on anything that is considered female. Now add in delayed video to sound, cutscenes every 10 seconds not allowing you the chance to even investigate the room and door's being locked to waiting on an NPC... and you've got GhostBusters.

That isn't to say I don't like the game - I do. It was fun and absolutely worth the halloween sale's $6. Am I gonna play it to completion? Sure! But will I groan at the 800 times they compare the michelin man to smores, marshmellows, sweetness and dessert? yep. Overall 6/10 game, but I would NEVER and I mean EVER pay full price for this. Nothing is remastered.

Stories really is the RPG that does everything right that I've been wanting for a LONG time. It's a JRPG that mixes the influences of monster hunter's formula, the appeal of its genre's art style and the gameplay of a Pokemon game that I think all of us imagined playing at this point. When I used to play Pokemon Diamond and Pearl when I was 8 years old, I had this idea that after a couple more titles, I was going to be able to roam the world of Pokemon. Monster Hunter: Stories did just that. The world is absolutely gorgeous, and a few of my friends and I really got the vibes that Breath of the Wild's influence over games took place here too in the art style.

To my dismay, this also included character customization. Whereas everything else about this game is nailed perfectly, one of my biggest gripes was the amount of time it took me to not look like a banana or an orange. I think after following some guides on Reddit for the skin color selection, I was able to do just that. My character is now tanned and that probably makes sense given that you're in a Rider's village where the sun's rays always serve a warm embrace for you to walk in. After that there were plenty of Monsters to enjoy the anime'd design of... especially when you realize that in the actual MH series, these monsters are easily 50x your height and 100x more ravenous.

The combat in the game leaves so much happiness in every bone of my body. To begin, it's safe enough to say that this game truly does respect your time. Storylines are the main quest but there's dozens of smaller quests, challenges, trials and multiplayer content. You do have to play the game a bit before you can access multiplayer in its full glory but I think this was implemented this way to encourage you to play the game and understand the mechanics behind it. Speaking of mechanics, there's a lot of things to learn and so many features that creature capturing games NEED to pick up on! For starts, we fight along our monsters. HELLO??? You're telling me it's no longer screaming at my creature? I can now choose to take out a gigantic toothpick and skewer the dang shark myself?? ABSOLUTELY! The game follows a rock-paper-scissors system to resolve its combat. You can fight using various different techniques, weapons and combinations. When you and another monster plan to assault eachother, it creates what's called a Head-to-Head which then bets the two fighting choices against eachother. The winner deals more damage and gains Rider Gauge, which allows you to ride your monster and do a UNIQUE sort of "finisher" blow.

Are you wanting to rush into the beef of the game? You can change your speed settings so you don't need to watch your character take their time! Is the monster you're fighting way below your caliber? EASY, Quick Finisher does the trick!! Are you worried you won't get the spoils if you skip the fight? NOPE! YOU DO! You get a full S Rank, the loot, AND the experience. Now obviously Quick Finishers only apply to weaker monsters so this isn't a way to bail out of quality time with your monsters. However, if you're busy, you can always leave it up to the Stables to bring your monsters on expeditions. As you progress through the story, more fields are opened based on the ones your story team has already conquered. Each expedition comes with various settings to encourage what you're looking to get out of it.

Overall, this game is definitely an entry-point to the franchise and a classic gem for jRPGs altogether. I am new to Monster Hunter, but after exploring the greatly designed world given to me in Stories, I think I'm ready to tackle World next. Monster Hunter Stories offers the charm of your typical anime-trope besties save the world, the combat and mechanics you probably wished Pokemon had and the graphics to seal the deal for your eyes. If for nothing else, then for your hopes to finally punt Navirou into another dimension.

This game is beautiful. Genuinely. I'm a really big fan of the fact that there's a story with NPCs you can win over to help you both passively and in the story. It's so sick. Combat is fun, Negotiations are really neat (don't get the difference in red/green yet) and love the backstories of the character.

I'll be honest, I'm not playing this game. I'm just not. I wanted to because of the anime and how much the storytelling invited the idea of moving to this game upon the season finale but... it's just not the same. Finding an AI game to even learn how to play took longer than 4 minutes, the characters from the show don't even match the same story that the game's own description tells (Invoker for instance), and I don't see myself playing a MOBA that's so intense mechanically, draining to wait for and graphically outdated. I'll stick to other games. I do hope the show becomes even better though <3

I love Davion. Why couldn't they port this appearance over to the game?

I'm gonna be honest. This was one of the fastest times I've quit a game after giving it a genuine attempt. I was extremely disappointed at how lacking the game felt in every which way. The dub is.. painful. After the third time he said Baby, I felt like I had been hit on by every man in the bar and somehow raunchier than that. The combat is beyond lackluster and the controls felt like I was playing a Ludum Dare. Would not recommend.

It's definitely much better than it used to be. Incredibly fun, exciting and refreshing. Its thematics fit quite well, which I feel was a huge problem with Ark. The purges definitely keep you on the edge of your seat. Unless you calculate the game and ruin the fun for yourself, it's honestly really fun.

The graphics might not be the best thing you've ever seen but the gameplay alone is enough to keep you attached for hours on end. Dominating your own army slowly, being an absolute god among men... or orcs and achieving a fantasy storyline that even people who aren't fans of Middle-earth such as myself can love and appreciate? I'm for it. Truly.
