Most games have NewGame+. Nier has an entire new game hidden behind each "replay".
It made each iteration not only fun, but deeper, and more though-provoking. Its a great game!

You liked the first Hades? This is the same, but somehow better? It made roguelites some of the most fun genres. It continues to do so.

Go in blind. Look nothing up, not even a trailer if you can.
This game is brilliant.

What sold me on the game were the aesthetics, and after the free trial I was sold on the gameplay. It's a soulslike, with satisfying enemies in each level, some degree of exploration and secret finding, and tight boss fights with interesting mechanics. The game has a few defense mechanics (parry, dodges, counter attacks, reflections) that are both familiar and new in the best of ways. Boss fights can be challenging, but as usual are rewarding. If you dig the look, and a tight souls-like, this will tickle that itch.

Asterigos feels like a labour of love. The game has the bones of a fantastic tale but the execution was rough around the edges. The concept of a Greek-inspired tale of magic was fantastic, and the work gone into making it into a deep world is there... it's unfortunately not super polished. The fighting is fun enough, and the ideas are entertaining, but the number of quality of life issues make the game tough to love.

Levels/arenas are large, but mostly empty - you get to run around for large periods of time without any real sense of accomplishment. NPCs are fairly bland, but worst of all is how the dialogue is organised - you essentially have quests buried under sub menus of conversation, where you have to cycle through the entire thing every time you speak to the NPC to ensure you get the quest. Dialogue/lore/info is also a monumental slog - there is qunatity over quality, sadly, and the content is often hard to engage with. Quest logs are written in a fanciful journal style, which conceptually is cool but is nebulous to follow and understand.

I enjoyed the game well enough, and you may enjoy it if you dig the aesthetics and like the style of gameplay. That said, I would not recommend it unless you truly love the style.

Play it in Classic Mode, and it becomes a delightful sequence of explorations, beating things up, and feeling like a badass. It's simple, to the point, but delivers on what makes Darksiders fun!

From the first frames, this game gripped me. What it did with the isometric RPG genre is likely the most novel, innovative, and immersive thing I've seen done with a game. This game made me feel I played a real person - and it kept me at the edge of my seat for most of my playthrough.

Can't recommend enough.

Some seriously good story telling combined with an extremely fun turn based strategy. It's an interactive book, in the best of ways.
