Horde mania in a 40k Hive City. What more do you want? Tons of fun with friends and the OST is the greatest since DOOM 2016. It'll need a little variety in levels and some optimization/stability, but those are definitely on the way. For the Emperor!

Technical details below. Holy %@#! is this game scary, I don't know why but the jump scares give me a near heart attack. The monsters are powerful and fearsome, and your weapon takes a while to prep, so dodging and slamming them feels pretty visceral and threatening - it scares the living crap out of me. Within the first 5 minutes the gore fest begins, and with the death scenes it never ends. I don't know if I'll ever be able to finish this game but if you're in for some gore and getting the pants scared off of you it's the one to play.

Running fine, occaisonal cutscene stutter. Made it through the intro without dropping below 100 FPS. Videos for proof, game is f#!@ng terrifying 9/10 will update review as I finish but holy hell that intro. Not sure what the issues everyone is facing are, I only updated drivers to yesterday's release and switched to DX11 in-game.

Worst out of the box port I've bought on Steam, and I own like 550-600 games now. Just bad bad bad, not worth messing with. Vote with your wallet. Refund requested.

This is a very fun game with an interesting take on strategy. I will bring a full review once completed but want to ensure it gets some positivy, I'd like to see more like this from Square Enix.

Game is an absolute masterpiece. WW1 is not familiar territory for me, but the stories it tells and the brutality of the MP combat really conveys why this was considered "the war to end all wars". My only gripe has to do with MP - I like the server browser, but the Quick Play often dumps you into empty lobbies or 1v1's. A mode such as Tactical Conquest in BFV would only add to the perfection. This also is probably one of the best looking games on the market despite it's age. Highly recommended.

Early Access Review
Edited Review: I gave it another whirl, and I have to respect the developers - the community was upset and they responded with changes to make the game out to what we all want it to be. Not the finger-in-the-ears "we're listening!" you typically get, but the re-tooled levels are much easier navigable and make more "sense" not being so large. I think they've really done some fine work revamping the game, this is exactly what Early Access is about and I'm glad to see a developer take care and support the community along the way. Try it if you haven't lately! You just might change your mind :)

Well, after 45 minutes and completion of E1M1, I feel compelled to write a short "first thoughts" review. The map is large, too large, and I think it kills some of the charm or the clever feeling of solving the maps in PW1. The guns feel amazing, the new graphics options are fantastic, and it's all in all going to be a fun game, but I do think they need to re-think the structure.

It's said there will be 3 chapters, with 3 characters. The map was so huge I felt frustrated running around, no one to shoot, uncertain of where to go. PW1 worked so well because the maps felt like classic maps of the DOOM and HERETIC era. The game didn't exactly follow the mold on those earlier titles, but it felt like them because of it's maps. I'll play and complete PW2 but if the map/episode/character model they're looking at isn't adjusted I feel like I'll be losing a new found best friend.

This game saved my life.

I am 39 years old.

My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and adopted our son together. They are now both 4 years old.

When we were going through our separation, I found myself lost and miserable. I was self destructive. I got so mad one day from everything spiraling out of my control that I punched some concrete in a moment of overwhelming emotion. That caused me to break my 5th metacarpal in my right hand... my working hand... my games hand.. the hand that I held and carried my children to bed with.. The hand I desperately needed to make sure I could continue to provide.

After learning of the severity of my self-inflicted damage, I was borderline suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man with no history of depression or anxiety. I have never had fits of rage, or been one to break down and cry, but I was in a low spot that just really buried me from being able to see the light on the other side.

Having nothing better to do, I searched for a game I could play, ONE HANDED while I recovered. I somehow stumbled upon this game and read some of the reviews. I decided that it had to be worth a shot... I must admit, I didn't beat the game, or play nearly as long as some of you. In fact, I may have only played this game a day or two.. With that being said, after doing so, I had a new found joy and hope for life. I was able to put behind me the pain and suffering that had been cast over me. I was able to experience other peoples joy and happiness. I was able to see the fruits of my "labor". I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ minutes to this music long enough to realize that I was going to be okay.

After coming to that realization, I turned the game off, and I went back to work. It hurt my hand like hell but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so damn sorry for myself, and I became the father I needed to be in that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving as.

Today, I am close friend with my kids mother. We don't fight, or argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents, and friends.

I now have 3 kids. My third child is, wait for it, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my own separation, and we just stumbled in to each others life unexpectedly. We have been in a relationship for a year now, and are very happy together.

Moral of the story, you never know what life holds in store for you, and if I would have given up when all the odds were stacked against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

I recommend AMID EVIL, and like it quite a bit, BUT, will say it is not the successor to Heretic nor HeXen. The hub area, as well as character classes, are not present. I love this game but think these things are of note: the game plays a bit more like a fantasy-themed Quake than it does a modern Heretic/HeXen. It crashes once and a while but no major issues on that front (they just patched the RTX in as of my writing), the RTX seems lite-enough that most systems should run some of the features well, and it's great to look at. Overall I enjoy AMID EVIL despite it not being the full spiritual successor to Heretic or HeXen.

Good, but not for veteran players. For new players, a great start. More negatives than positives but that's primarily driven by price, time, and expectations. If you're a vet, and really want it, wait for a deep sale. If you're new, don't play without it IMO.

I think the issue with Worldslayer is that if you're a veteran, and you've run through the main game and played the end game a bit, than you're almost too well equipped to breeze through the expansion in a couple hours. If you're on a character that's got even considered "a build", then you're in this category. It's basically a 2-4 hour experience in this state and then you're on to the new end game, which is fun but nothing drastically new. The PAX points change things up a bit, but aren't monumental enough to really build new interest.

If you're new to Outriders, and you never played the original campaign, than this is a much better "endcap" than the base game's end. This brings you through a new area, where you can progress with the new tier of weapons/equipment, and to the final endgame. I think from that perspective it brings on a much more complete and well rounded game.
