Really confused by the negative reviews of this expansion as it I don't see most of it. I've been playing Destiny 2 on PC on and off ever since it released (including my pre-Steam playtime I think roughly 1.1k hours). Played it heavily pre-Forsaken as well as during the glorious times of the Forsaken era. After that I somewhat lost interest and just came back to it whenever I felt the itch. Last year when the Final Shape dropped I was really impressed by the whole campaign and how amazing they closed that chapter of Destiny. But then the lay offs happened, as well as the big push towards Marathon and I was just worried that the game is crushing towards its end. I still went back to it a bit, but played rarely. When I realised, that this new expansion was around the corner, I got the itch to play again and figured, I might just give it a try - and I have to say: I am really impressed, how this turned out, especially considering with all the stuff that happened in the past. I enjoyed the campaign, the mission design, the new mechanics, the voice acting and the changes to power, armor etc. really intrigued me and I still find it satisfying thus far. Maybe I would see things differently would I have kept playing heavily through all those years, but for me as a returning (and somewhat rather casual) player it was definitely worth it. I figured that it could also be a good point for new players due to the armor and power revamp, but considering how complex the game is, I am actually not sure. I guess if you have a friend that is willing to guide you through it and explain a bunch of stuff, it could be fun.

Enjoyed playing through the story and leveling but I don't really see any lasting appeal of the end game. A lot of time gated stuff and random pvp events make it super annoying if you just want to log in and grind some gear or farm other stuff. Guild raids felt super shallow and dungeons - although pretty fun overall - got annoying quickly too as it was really hard to find a party if you weren't a specific class.

I'll still choose "recommend" as I think it's worth playing through the story and dipping your toes into the end game content as an F2P player. But if you're expecting it to to be your next main game for years to come, you might be disappointed farely soon.

Ok, so here's my two cents.. Overall, I like the idea behind this sim because who doesn't like building PCs, coming up with new builds, experimenting with various parts etc. BUT the problem is, that I feel like the sim gets bland very quickly way too soon. The free build mode is nice to try out different things and to see whether they are actually going to work and how the setup would look like. The campaign mode is also a pretty interesting idea to keep the whole thing fresh and exciting but tbh ... I really LOVE building PCs, doing something with my own hands and having the unbelievable excitement when you push the power button and it actually works. I realised pretty quickly that this cannot give me the same enjoyment - it doesn't even come close. Which is why I realised after only having one hour played that it is just not for me.

Please don't get me wrong though. You can see that the devs put a lot of work and effort into this sim and I'm pretty confident that they'll keep improving stuff and adding new things. It just wasn't the right fit for me at a price tag of 20 bucks.

There was nonetheless one thing I was wondering about.. I didn't really like the campaign mode personally but I thought that the free build is a pretty cool feature if you just want to try out a build (somewhat like a visualised version of pc partpicker). So I was wondering whether it would be possible to make the free build mode a standalone f2p mode (maybe funded through advertisements of hardware companies?!) for people who wanna get a feel and idea for their next build before they buy there new parts. I'd definitely use that every time I want to build a new PC.

At the end of the day, I feel like this is a neat simulator with huge potential. While it just wasn't the right fit for me at the price tag of 20 EUR (since I didn't enjoy the campaign mode and the free build mode still seems a bit too limited atm), I still feel like it could be a cool experience for people into pc building or someone who's trying to get into pc building. Therefore, I'm leaving a thumbs up nonetheless.

Curious where this will be in a couple of months. :)

Well, what can I say? Playing this game ever since release has kinda been an emotional rollercoaster. Although I did uninstall the game multiple times, I always came back to it. I even wrote a pretty angry and disappointed review back in June last year and thought that I was done for good with the game.

But even after a break of a couple of months, it managed to pull me back in again. I guess, if I wouldn't be able to still be playing the game with the same group of friends I started back when PUBG released, I wouldn't have come back in the first place, but I gotta say: I'm glad I did, since - to me - the game feels better than it ever did before. I totally agree that there are still major issues with the game and that it still is (and probably always will be) far from being a fully polished and perfect game, but it is nonetheless still the best BR out there and I'm happy Bluehole seems to actually be listening to their players again.

Dear devs, the last couple of patches have been a HUGE improvement again - let's hope you can keep doing as well in the future! Many thanks for hundreds of hours of fun (mostly). <3

P.S.: I do recommend playing this in squad mode with three friends (or at least duos with one of your mates) to get the most out of it.

The idea itself is pretty neat especially since PUBG is currently lacking a similar training mode and the core experience it offers for the low price is actually pretty solid. However, Battle Royale Trainer (BRT) still needs a lot of improvements to feel like an accurate training sim for this ever so popular genre. I guess although that it's referring to the genre Battle Royale itself, (looking at the design and weapon choices etc.) it's trying to offer a training mode specifically for PUBG-players. Therefore, my review is focused on the perspective of a PUBG-player, who might be interested in a training mode like this.

TL;DR: Your best bet so far but nowhere near to the actual game. Needs a lot of tweaking or you won't see any improvements in your actual play style.

1. Weapons: The weapons need a lot of tweaking as they currently don't really feel anywhere close to the ones in PUBG. People have been talking about weapon spray etc. before but my main concern is with ballistics, bullet velocity etc. when practicing long-distance shots. My main problem currently with PUBG is that I most of the time don't get enough time to practice my sniping skills with the various weapons and scope combinations. I really do hope that in the future the devs are trying to bring the feel of the weapons inside BRT as close to PUBG as possible.

2. Sound design: Although the sound design of PUBG is nowhere near perfect and has been complained about a lot in the past, it is still very crucial for these kind of games and should therefore also be accurately represented in BRT. Currently I am finding it very hard to track down shooters while being shot at and sometimes can't even locate them when I'm actually looking straight at them. ALSO: Please let me disable the main menu music!!!

3. Visibility: I find it pretty hard to find any targets on the woodlands map - mostly due to the way shadows and lighting work atm and the map design itself. I think it probably needs a few adjustments regarding terrain (maybe more open fields with rocks as hiding spots and on the other hand less trees?). Also, how bout different map sizes or a map size that increases or decreases depending on how many bots you choose? Currently I find it pretty hard to track down any enemies on woodlands when I set the number very low to like 5 or 10.

These were my initial thoughts. Overall, this is your best bet so far if you want to practice some BR-style shooting or simply warm up for PUBG outside of an actual round BUT it just feels too far away from the actual game atm, which raises doubts that you will gain any valuable skill improvements with its current state.

I would give a neutral rating for now if that'd be possible on steam but I just can't recommend BRT in its current state. I will nonetheless keep revisiting it regularly to check out improvements and I'm pretty sure that the devs will be able to create something valuable for everyone if they keep listening to the players and adjust BRT accordingly.

So long, take care and see you on the battleground!

Great game destroyed by shady monetization and questionable dev decisions.

OK, so I realise that most of the negative reviews are linked to the argument that there is not enough content that justifies the current price tag of this game. Although I have to admit that I was lucky enough to win this game during a twitter raffle, I can now - after nearly 18 hours of playtime - say that I don't think this is overpriced. Please bare in mind that I have never played Wanderlust: Rebirth so I can't tell whether there is much difference between both titles, but this game by itself is actually great fun and after nearly 18 hours I am still not bored of playing this, which is a good deal for a game at 11 quid, I'd say.
Sure, the bosses on 'normal' difficulty are not the hardest, some NPCs tend to be imbalanced and you can play through the main story in about 7-8 hours. Nonetheless, you need to consider that there is so much more to this game than just the main story. There are actually quite a few dungeons hidden around the map with a lot of loot and their respective mini-bosses. Also, I am thrilled to find/craft the best gear possible as well as figuring out the best skill set for my character. Even if all that is not enough for you, you will be able to compete in the arena fights and although I thought, my character is already pretty awesome I am still miles a way from that 'round 20' achievement.

Apart from singleplayer, I recently started to play this with some other guys and I think that's the most brilliant thing about this game. Raiding dungeons and fighting bosses is even more fun if you are in a group. I played a big chunk of the main story again right after I finished it in singleplayer and I enjoyed it even more. Especially, as one of the players showed us some dungeons that we hadn't heard of before. And then there is obviously also 'epic' difficulty to give you and your friends a bigger challenge (and better loot).

Last but not least, I think it's great that the dev is still so engaged and keeps constantly releasing bugfixes. Sure, there are still some glitches and the game is not perfect but I am sure it will still be improved along the way.

So overall, I can recommend this game as I really enjoyed it so far and I will definitely spend more time playing this. If you are not sure about the price and expect a 20+ hours story for your money, do not buy this (or wait until it's on offer)! But if you like pixel RPGs and want to have some fun with friends or on your own exploring this little entertaining indie title, go for it! I don't think you'll regret it.
