If this game released in it's current state, it'd be hailed as one of the best games of all time.

Due to its blemished introduction, it's kind of became a bit tainted to some since. Similar to no-mans sky, this game rose out of the ashes to actually stand on its own and be a unique and engaging experience.

I fully recommend Cyberpunk if you like RPGS (especially deus ex). It feels like Deus Ex and GTA had some weird love child and it works fantastically.

Also buy the DLC! Phantom Liberty is the best DLC experience in a game I've ever had. Idris Elba kills it.

After spending another 35 hours in this game, I'm ready to give a proper review.

Let's start off with the main question I've seen..and the main question I had when delving into this game initially:

I don't know how to play poker / I'm not good at poker... why would I play this?

I'll be real, my only experience prior to Balatro with Poker was playing Poker Night at the Inventory (when I was a young teen) and playing the Mario Poker DS minigame.
This game is NOT a poker game as much as it is a roguelike deckbuilder akin to Slay the Spire or Monster Train.

Yes, the core mechanics to score are poker related -- but the game allows you to see what you need to score these at any point. It also lets you know if a hand would score.
The main scoring will be making choices that impact your run, then rolling with what you're given to proceed to Ante 8 and beat the run.

I FULLY recommend this game, it is genuinely close to perfection. My only complaints would maybe be balance at the higher stakes.

Overall, this game is a unique experience that will shape future roguelikes to come. The music is fantastic, the presentation is great, and the gameplay is snappy and addictive. Runs can be played at your own leisure, so go as quick or as slow as you'd like.

If you like this genre of roguelike at all, do yourself a favor. This game is worthy of being up there with Slay The Spire.

If you are reading this and are already addicted and want more of a fix, go check out Luck be a Landlord too :)

More of Tekken.

Smooth online and a fun story mode. Gameplay feels as smooth as ever, both visually and general feel.

I do want more customization options though, customization is lacking but fine for now. Harada already said more free stuff would be coming at least.

I'd say between Momodora 3, 4, and 5 this one is my least favorite. However, at the end of the day it being my least favorite doesn't mean it's not a good game.

Momodora: Moonlit Farewell has great visuals as always, an interesting enough story, fun combat, chill music, and some memorable bossfights and locations.

It also runs amazing on the deck out of the box, which I expected.

One thing I don't understand is why there are 2-3 time gated upgrades that make you wait 10 minutes. These feel stupidly out of place. I do also think the start of the game feels slow (in terms of character speed/fluidity). I do feel like some of the areas were a bit annoying to navigate through as well, and trying to get from point a to point b sometimes was a bit annoying. These are just small gripes however, nothing major enough for me not to appreciate this game.

One of the best platformers I've played in a long time -- replicating the gamecube platformer era perfectly.

As a fan of Katamari Damacy, Pikmin, and any platformer from around those times...this game feels like a love letter to all of it.

Each stage is very unique and feels different, while also utilizing the setting of it in a house perfectly. The art style ties it all together perfectly, and makes it a fun experience.

I'd easily give this game a 10/10, with my one gripe being I wish it was longer! I really hope a sequel pops up one day.

I'll be honest, this wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be.

Don't get me wrong, it's bad. But it was the fun kind of bad where I enjoyed 100%ing it.

I can't recommend it, but it almost is an okay game? The story was laughingly bad, the gameplay is way jankier than HR due to it being a phone game, bodies just kind of disappear..but I didn't hate it.

I wouldn't ever consider buying this unless you want an easy game to 100% and like the core gameplay loop of deus ex HR. It's like a way worse version of it in every way, due to it being an unfinished mobile game that hints at a second chapter that never exists.

honestly, if you got it as part of the bundle or wanna spend $2 for it when its on sale...go for it? there are worse ways to spend 5 hours.

Most of the negative reviews I've seen for this game are essentially people upset it's an ARPG and not a gauntlet-like game.

As someone who loves the original hammerwatch, but definitely prefers ARPG gameplay I don't see the problems so far with this game.

Some of my time was offline on my deck, and it ran really well.

This is definitely not deserving of a mixed review so far, it's a pretty solid 2d ARPG. I'd say Chronicon is miles better, but I'd still recommend this game -- however I wouldn't recommend it at $20. I got it in a bundle so it was essentially 7 bucks.

My initial review was positive, but this game does not have enough content to be good.

I don't recommend in it's current state, even if the baseline is fine.

An improvement on the original, merging some risk of rain 2 features into 1. I loved the first one, and I can see me playing the new and improved version way more. I also enjoy the Providence Trials a lot, fun little minigames to unlock stuff. There is a Castlevania one that made me very happy :)

The music is great as always, and even if risk of rain 1 gameplay is a bit janky -- the various other improvements help. They are also adding mouse aiming soon!

Plays great on Steam Deck, besides occasional lag spikes -- I just turned my graphical settings down and it seems to be fixed.

Edit, after about a week:
After playing it more, I still fully recommend this game. I do think I prefer risk of rain 2, but this game is a good change of pace and really stands on its own. Works good with friends too!

I think in it's current state, I'm neutral on Starfield.

It does nothing really new with the format, and just continues the 20+ year old formula.

It's the least buggy Bethesda game, but came at the cost of gameplay even more shallow than previous titles.

It does a lot right, don't get me wrong. The game is gorgeous, space combat is really well done, low gravity combat is enjoyable, and the gunplay feels great!

However, for a 2023 AAA game -- the game doesn't pass basic expectations.

Interesting NPC AI? Nope, we're on gamebryo. They sit around, usually waiting to die...even on the hardest difficulty. Oh yeah, and the hardest difficulty just makes them take WAY longer to die. Starfield combat feels good until you're emptying 5 clips into one enemy who sits there blankly looking at you and shooting back.

Honestly the exploration is its weakest point as you travelling from planet to planet is a chore. You can't actually use your ship to explore the planet -- but instead choose a spot to land and travel on foot.

Exploring on foot is fun....sometimes. I've ran into a lot of the same general layouts and copy pasta random locations many times. Finding them the first time is great, but knowing the exact layout of a pirate base based on how it's generated...isn't fun. Most of the interesting exploration related locations are the hand-built and hand-placed ones. However, I will say that I enjoyed the dungeons. They are fairly large and enjoyable to fight through. There is no way to quickly travel on land, so you mostly hold shift+w and run to each landmark.

The most innovative part of the game are the new skills. There's a fairly large selection, and to unlock the next perk you need to complete a challenge. Kill 20 enemies with rifles, and you can upgrade your rifle damage even more. This is a system I enjoyed a lot. However, there are some glaring balance issues across them. Why would you spec into food healing you more when survival mode isn't even a thing? Melee sounds great until you realize there's essentially no ways to mod and build interesting weapons...and the game has less than 10 melee weapons to choose from.

Animations taking a VERY long time. There are animations for every little thing you do. Picking up loot, leaving a planet, entering a planet, docking onto a spaceship, getting into your pilot's chair, getting out of the same chair..waiting for airlocks to close and open. The list goes on. The first few hours these may not exhaust you, but some of them are so slow that it really starts to add up. Some of these animations are purely to then transfer you into a loading screen. Thankfully, there is already a mod to shorten or remove all of these animations!

The story is fairly boring and not well written. There are romance options but not a way to actually pursue them...your character just says really awful lines and that's pretty much it. I played 25 hours and honestly can't recall any side NPC or quest that stood out to me.

The NPCs themselves are uncanny valley. Everyone has a thousand-yard stare and looks slightly...off. They stare into your soul and barely show any emotion. It feels jarring and makes it hard to find them interesting.

I would not recommend it for full price unless you're a die hard Bethesda fan and have exhausted the other games entirely.
I'd say its a 6.5-7/10 which will have it's main issues be fixed by modding. The gameplay is fun, but getting to actually play the game took a lot of time..
