The only thing wrong with this game is there isn't more of it.

Nice to see an open world game that doesn't rely on filler to justify the size of the world. Boss design not quite as tight as previous games but lots to do and exploration always feels rewarding. Worth a look even if you haven't been able to get into previous SB games.

Early Access Review
Still a bit rough at time of writing, it is Early Access but progress has been very slow, but what is there is good and I personally found this more interesting than the recent Monkey Ball release. Also supports custom maps so has a bit more going for it.

If a well made arcade rail shooter with some rhythm elements and leaderboards sounds interesting then this is worth a look. It has come a long way since release with some pretty major updates. A lingering weak point has been the repetitive level setups due to limited enemy types that mostly just focus on how much health the enemy has, but the latest round of levels finally bring some twists to the formula helping the new levels break away from the predictable patterns. Hopefully we will continue to see more content like this going forward. An easy recommendation at this point.

A co-op third person shooter with interesting blend of ranged and melee combat, feels a little like a mash up of L4D and RE4 with Souls like elements.

The difficulty balancing can also be a bit all over the place due to the randomisation approach to the world and bosses, this may put some people off at first if you get a bit unlucky, but if you are up for a challenge its worth powering through, and there are options to change difficulty or completely reroll the world if needed.

The game could use a bit more content to make the randomisation feel worth while when playing additional runs, but what you get seems fair based on the asking price, and updates have introduced some extra content over time.

While it does have its faults it still manages to be my personal top game of 2019, it gets a lot right and shows how a guns based Souls like game can work, a concept i'd like to see more of in future.

Short and sweet with some good level design, I appreciate puzzle games that don't just devolve into trial and error, and for the most part this is a game that lets you think your solutions out, often the solution will be staring you in the face and you'll wonder why it took you so long to notice.

The optional coop play works nicely as well. I do not believe there is an undo button so pick your partner carefully.

The game is a little short on features, but for the price it does what it needs to do and does it well. Certainly one of the more satisfying indie puzzle games I have played in a while.

Early Access Review
Impressive but has fairly limited support, if you like what is on the current compatibility list then it is worth checking out

To me Rocket League is one of the few modern competitive games I feel is actually worth investing time into due to its focus on pure balanced gameplay. Keeping everything on an even playing field with no classes, gear or ability systems throwing off the balance. If you win, you earned it.

Even with the relatively straight forward mechanics of the game, there is still an insane skill ceiling built around an ever growing range of community discovered moves and techniques. It is up to you to decide where to put your time, train and learn techniques you find interesting, build a play style that works for you. If you ever manage to master every technique and feel like you have nothing left to learn, you’ll probably find you got your money’s worth.
