Literally the most fun I've had in a game for ages, it's terrifying and amazingly fun to play with friends. It also doesn't lose it's scary factor like phasmophobia because you are still powerless against a lot of monsters even if you know "how to deal with them"

TLDR: if you can justify the price on a short (less than 10 hrs) but extremely well polished experience, buy this game. If you're looking for extensive amounts of unique content that will keep you entertained for dozens of hours, avoid the game for now.

It's a good game, extremely polished, runs well, no technical issues - it feels like what triple A games should be. The gameplay itself though is just 'decent'. Every mission is basically following a todo list of go to a location, grab an object, etc. The tasks vary, but always feel the same and get repetitive quickly. However, this can be excused due to the joy of playing a horror game with friends, which makes the whole experience a lot more fun.

I am torn on whether to recommend it though. For the price, there is so little content available - with effectively only 3 unique missions and every other being a modified version (or even the exact same just more enemies). I almost feel bad pointing it out because the content that is available is incredibly well polished, but the truth is that the gameplay becomes repetitive and you don't get many hours of fun out of it. Personally I have had fun playing the game, mostly because of the co-op, and not having to deal with the BS that so many other "triple A" games include is a breath of fresh air - but it's kinda sad that it's got to this point.

Makes the thrill of speedrunning accessible to anyone who doesn't have the time to speedrun other games.

People give the story and dialogue more ♥♥♥♥ than it deserves. Yes it's cringe, but it's intentionally cringe. The cringe dialogue is part of the story.
And if you're so opposed to cringe that you immediately disintegrate at the slightest hint of it, you can just skip over all the dialogue.

I genuinely believe this is one of the most fun platform fighters that I've ever played. While it has changed a lot from the beta, namely in movement speed, I think this was a necessary change and it has made combat a lot more intentional and a lot less 'spam dodge and pray'.
That being said, there is a lot wrong with the game at the moment. Servers are horrible atm, every 2nd match someone gets disconnected, lagged out, desynchronised or otherwise. You can only level up the battle pass through challenges and missions, which essentially equates to no progression if you only play the characters and gamemodes you enjoy.
I'm not sure how long it takes to unlock new characters, but it seems to be very slow, even by f2p standards.
A lot of settings aren't available any more, camera is too zoomed in, too much input buffer, etc. Basically there's a lot of problems with the game that aren't related to the actual PVP gameplay. I hope a lot of these issues will be solved sooner rather than later because I truly don't want the game to die like it did during beta.

I definitely recommend the game if you're a frequent VR user, but it certainly isn't a game for casual audiences (or people who get frustrated easily).

BONELAB has a unique engine where every interaction is physics based. Because of this, it different from basically every other game out there. You get frustrated as your 'feet' get caught on ladder rungs, you'll trip over things, smack your head on virtual roofs, your weapons will get stuck on twigs and get stuck in enemies
- It's all frustrating, but well worth persistence because once you're used to it, you've got the most advanced VR physics system out there.

Pros:
- The most advanced physics system in a VR game as of yet
- Incredible modding support
- Pretty much a direct upgrade from BONEWORKS
- Gameplay and campaign is fun (mostly)
- S tier soundtrack

Neutral:
- The story, like BONEWORKS, is hidden in secret areas, clipboards, wall scrawlings and is quite confusting. There's a better overarching story than BONEWORKS, so BONELAB is better casual story wise, but it's still confusing.
- It can be frustrating to get used to the physics engine. It takes time and patience, and not everyone will enjoy it.
- It doesn't hold back. You will be thrown across the map, sit in moving vehicles, do everything possible to make you get VR sickness - Personally I love it, but if you're not accustomed to VR you WILL get nauseous quickly.

Cons:
- The overall pacing and structure of the campaign is still weird. Basically everything up to 3/4 through the game feels like an extended tutorial.
- The moon level is not even remotely fun. I get what they're trying to achieve with it, but to play the "intended way" is reliant on having unlocked certain items.
- Sometimes the physics engine just feels broken in a way that doesn't feel justified. A lot of frustration can usually be attributed to human error, but sometimes it's just straight up a bug with the engine and it can be very frustrating (im looking at you, moon level terrain)

Overall I definitely do recommend BONELAB for anyone who enjoyed BONEWORKS or is looking for an advanced VR experience. Even if you're not in this category, I would still recommend giving it a shot. Just be warned that it's a unique experience, and requires time and patience to learn how this new way of playing works.

While the EAC update was still a stupid idea and I don't know why they went through with it - They have substantially improved the game after that update, bringing popular mod features and more to all players.

VRChat is and hopefully always will be better than anything meta/facebook could ever offer.

This tool let me use my old Oculus CV1 headset and use it as trackers for high quality full-body VR.

Driver4VR is far from perfect, but it what it allows you to do is unlike anything else out there. A fantastic piece of software for anyone who is wants to explore and enhance VR with otherwise unused old tech.
