I've become disillusioned with this game as of late and therefore can't recommend it to people in its current state.

For context I have been a daily player/grinder/no-lifer for SNAP since the release of the MODOK season, and before that played during beta. I've sunk a lot of hours (on mobile) and a lot of money on this game, hit infinite every season since MODOK, and even that sunk cost still didn't retain me as a player.

In the nicest way possible I will attribute the games shortcomings to its core design team and the monetization. Gameplay wise, I started seeking other entertainment with the release of Alioth, it was and still is such an unfun to play against card I close SNAP and do something else. All it takes is one game and I'm not even exaggerating. NOT TO MENTION, Infinite Leaderboard ruined the one part of the game I grinded for. Reaching Infinite was when you can finally breathe a sigh of relief and play wacky off meta stuff or whatever you enjoy because there were no stakes. Now every game changes your ELO and EVERYONE TAKES IT SO FREAKIN SERIOUSLY. Hearthstone can be frustrating, and I can lose every game I play in a day, but WE GO AGANE. Meanwhile SNAP... sure I can go again, but is it worth it?

Besides that, the monetization just seems worse and worse as time goes on. I'm lucky enough to have a job and living situation where I can drop $100-200 a month on SNAP but more recently the bundles may have a better overall value but holy hell are they more expensive. I can throw money at the screen all day long at $10-20 bundles but its like once a week BAM $65 dollars, pay up now little piggy!!! Then next week BAM $50 dollars, give into the FOMO!!!

It felt like I was being asked to pay AAA game prices on single variants and currency all the damn time, and it's just annoying. Hearthstone has a set number of bundles in the shop once a week, none of them go over like $40 unless it's got a bunch of golden packs or stacked with Signature cards or something, and I'm not asked every time I check the game to run to the shop! You can't even buy your way through the Tavern Pass.

Something's seriously wrong when Hearthstone, MADE BY BLIZZARD ENTERTAINMENT, is more friendly to your wallet than Snap.

Got a good amount of hours in during the early release days so I have enough time in game to get a feel for my verdict, which is that Payday 3 is worth it, even in the current state.

There's a lot of cope going around about always online, solo matchmaking, and "anemic amount of content" which are valid criticisms but a lot of people are expecting this game to be Payday 2+ which it isn't. It's not like Payday 2 is gone either you can still play it and enjoy it if that's what you prefer.

However, PD3 is a much more engaging and fluid gameplay experience and I'm having fun figuring things out for myself. The weapon bar customization is annoying and there's not much clarity on the bonuses which, while bad, opens up some experimentation to see what's actually good and viable. I've found a nice little niche in a hipfire stagger build with the Ziv and it seems Overkill viable once I get more leveled.

Overall, it's a good experience, there will be growing pains but I believe Starbreeze/Overkill do genuinely want to make this game better in the long run and they seem to have a good pipeline going for content and updates.

I just feel like people are being entitled for wanting a game as full as Payday 2 on launch day when devs had to work entirely in a new engine, through covid, and learning from their mistakes with RAID and TWD.

Give it time and it will be as good if not better than Payday 2.

If you experience crashes or bugs I genuinely think you weren't praising the Omnissiah hard enough.

Gameplay is rock solid, praise the emperor.

(Nov. 2021 - Positive Review) i mean, it's halo. what more do you want?

(Sep. 2022 - Negative Review) This game could have been so much more. Really could have lived up to the "Infinite" tagline by being an awesome Halo game that would last for a good long while, be a model for live service games. We were excited man. Me and the boys firing up Halo almost a year ago were excited for a new and awesome Halo experience. I was ready to literally bleed money for this game cause I remember Halo being so awesome as a kid. Except this game ended up like ♥♥♥♥, like every other 343 Halo game.

First it was the bugs, god the release was such a buggy mess. That's okay though, release is never perfect. Then 343 just, went on vacation? Great job there, release a game that's filled to the brim with bugs and then just F off for weeks and do nothing. Everyone deserves breaks and vacation time but maybe don't release in that window and just wait a month? Once the glaring release bugs were ironed out, then we got... nothing. Literally, nothing of substance was added to this game for months. Oh wow a dumb little event for FOMO cosmetics, that'll definitely get me to play the same ♥♥♥♥ maps and modes we've had for months and months.

The campaign was good, but that's quite literally the only good thing so far, and guess what. I beat it in like 2 days and never touched it again, because there's really no replay value unless you're hunting achievements and didn't just straight up 100% your first run.

We're almost a full year into the game, nobody really cares anymore. I certainly don't. For how much this game was delayed there was NOTHING that indicated the delay was for content or quality. It really should have been cancelled and nothing would have really changed in the gaming landscape.

That's why I'm giving this a bad review and justifying my reasoning. It's just a shame how 343 just can't get it right, and I doubt they ever will. Forge from the start would have been monumental, and it's not even halfway implemented after a year of this game being out. All 343 knows how to do is just make cringe cosmetics for kids and weebs, when the development would have been better allocated to making the game actually good.

It's got a lot less backtracking than 1&2, combat is super smooth and the gunplay is really satisfying. Elizabeth is essentially a get out of jail free card because if you run out of anything it wont be long until you hear "Booker, catch!" and you get a free refill on whatever it is your missing. Never died during my whole playthrough even up on the higher difficulties. I suggest it to anyone that hasn't played 1&2 or anyone who liked 1 and hated 2.
