This is the my first souls game, I've played some Sekiro but I dropped it at the chained ogre. So more or less, no experience with souls games. Spoilers for the game , just in case you don't want to know.

I have 18 hours currently in the lands between and I've enjoyed it. I beat the Tree sentinel , Dragon Agheel , all of the dungeon bosses in West Limgrave and cleared Castle Mourne and Fort Haight and also escaped my way out of Caelid after being stuck in a transporter trap. I have explored a lot of ground and yesterday I tried Margit the fell Omen. It took me 21 min but I did defeat Margit, I didn't use the Spirit summons as I managed to get to the 2nd stage very easily on my first try so I stubbornly kept trying and when I got him down to 25 percent hp in a run , I knew I could do it without summons if I just polish my dodges a bit more and eventually I managed to defeat margit with no summons. Today I explored all of the Stromvale Castle ( I think at least ) , haven't tried to fight Godrick yet but I will attempt him soon.
So far, even with Margit being the toughest first boss in all the souls game, I still beat him and I felt amazing after I beat him. The open world is amazingly rich and dense which makes me go just run around exploring things and seeing where my curiosity would lead me , haven't felt like that in a open world for a long time.
Combat is the best , I'm new to souls game and haven't played the dark souls series so it took me a while to get used to it and also the controls are weird on keyboard ( I don't have a controller ) so that added an extra thing to learn but it was still fun nonetheless. I'm enjoying this game so much. Haven't tried coop yet but I will soon. Everything else about this game is also amazing, the sound , the voices , the graphics and it runs pretty smoothly for me ( maybe cuz I don't have a RTX GPU ) but I believe they will fix the PC performance issues for the others.

So TLDR? Even if its your first souls game or if you were too afraid of the difficulty , you can make the game easier for yourself by using spirit summons or summon a player. This is definitely a MUST- PLAY experience so far and I haven't even moved on to the 2nd zone yet.
